Benzoyl peroxide is very effective for acne as it enters the pore- it is an exfoliator and it is an antimicrobial (which kills the bacteria that is inside the pore). Essentially, it is poisoning the bacteria with oxygen. However, the problem with benzoyl peroxide is that it can be very irritating and drying to the skin especially when using a higher percentage of it. After researching more about this ingredient in skincare, I found that it is best to start at 2% or 2.5%, basically at a lower percentage. What you want to do here is reduce the chances of any irritation and then make sure you are getting the benefits needed. So finally I found this 2.5% benzoyl peroxide from Paula's Choice. I wish I had discovered this brand earlier because it is a struggle finding skincare products in their correct therapeutic range. Using this has cleared up my acne so much🥲🥳
I purchased this from Amazon -
