Hi everyone! Lately, I’ve been gravitating more towards not using foundation but at the same time, I want a little umph to my skin when I go out.

So, I’m on the hunt for a good tone up cream! Do you have any favourites you could suggest for me? Bonus points if it is combined with SPF!

I’m currently on the hunt for more skincare to add to my collection LOL. Specifically, a cleansing oil/balm. I’ve browsed through a few on websites on my own but can’t seem to make up my mind on what is good. 

At the moment I’m deliberating between the Banila Co cleansing balm and Pyungkang Yul’s deep cleansing oil. But I’d really like it if you could recommend me some of your favourites.

I’m especially looking for a good quality cleanser that is relatively cheap and comes in a huge bottle 😆

Your favourite first cleanse options!

(1) My skin is normal-oily (on the drier side during winter) so I find this sunscreen comfortable to wear for the most part on colder/drier days but if I keep it on for too long (e.g. more than 10 hours), I’ll start to get a bit shiny/oily especially in my T-zone. I’d probably opt for a lighter sunscreen during the summer.

(2) A very, very slight white cast in the first few seconds of application but it quickly disappears.

(1) Hydrating, dewy finish which gives me a ‘glass skin’ effect

(2) No fragrance but I find the smell of the actual sunscreen to be very soothing. Rather than smelling like your typical sunscreen, it smells like a mild baby lotion (which I’m a huge fan of) 

(3) Has a milky texture which easily spreads and melts into my skin. 

(4) Does not pill under my hydrating toners/moisturiser 

(5) Does not run into and burn my eyes.

(6) I LOVE the pump packaging. SUPER convenient for someone lazy (i.e. me) 

Nothing particularly bad. It’s a basic toner with a light texture which is buildable. I didn’t break out despite it being a new addition to my routine. Though, it may be too light for someone with dry skin (I have oily-combination skin)

[𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒓] I have received this product for free from Picky and Make P:rem in exchange for my honest review.

This product feels like a massive water bottle for my face! The bottle is 400ml which pleasantly surprised me since I’ve never seen toners this big! Further, it is fragrance free and the texture is watery. Upon application of 2 layers, my combination skin feels deeply hydrated and I have reached for this product every day this past week. 

In order to try this product, I replaced the Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner which I usually use in my routine, with this toner. While there are absolutely no faults with Make P:rem’s toner, I will say that, if this toner’s texture was more viscous, I’d replace the Dear Klairs toner immediately.

Nothing bad! This was my go-to for a long time but I’ve decided to try out other brands. Also, over time, I feel like my skin has gotten used to the exfoliating power of this product (really gentle)

I’ve repurchased this 3 times! It holds a special place in my heart since it’s the first chemical exfoliant I’ve ever tried. I like that it:

(1) Was really gentle on my sensitive, teenage skin which was extremely oily. 

(2) Reduced the amount of breakouts I got while I was using it. 

(3) Smoothened my skin texture. My jaw area used to always be bumpy clogged with whiteheads. It also got rid of the flaky skin around my nose which I had all year round.

(4) Thinned out my blackheads. Despite not getting rid of my blackheads entirely, this product works well to thin out the thickness of my blackheads

(5) Not drying.

(6) Light, watery consistency with barely any residue left on the skin.

Nothing particularly bad formula-wise. The only reason why it wouldn’t be my top-pick sunscreen is because my current sunscreen (from Biore) gives the same comfort but is cheaper. However, if that were to be sold out or discontinued one day, I’d repurchase this sunscreen from Dear Klairs. 

(1) Texture is lightweight, non-greasy, non-sticky and wears comfortably on the skin. It rubs in and absorbs super nicely. Very cosmetically elegant. 

(2) No white cast. 

(3) No noticeable scent. 

(4) I wore this on days I had to go and work shifts where I was in a fast-paced environment where I sweat a lot. But, when I came home at the end of the day, I didn’t look like a grease ball. Also, despite the sweating, it didn’t get into or burn my eyes. 

(1) I used this ampoule along with the Commonlabs Vitamin E Light Cream day and night for a week and while I acknowledge the impressive sebum controlling properties, in my personal experience, overusing these products caused my skin barrier to become inflamed, irritated and very dry. I also broke out as a result of my compromised skin barrier. 

(2) For those with sensitive skin and skin that is not overly oily like myself, I’d say to be careful not to over use. However, I don’t think this is a bad product and will still use it in the future but rather than all over my whole face every day, I’ll only use it as a spot treatment a few times a week.
