I think the importance of protecting and nurturing our skin barrier has ever been so pronounced at this time. And while I steer away from harsh products, my skin occasionally suffers from irritation as a result of over exfoliation. Although I do have some products that I like to use to keep my skin barrier happy & healthy, I am on the hunt for products that are much more suitable for someone oily like me. 

Personally, the Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief is one of those products that I’ve tried for this purpose. However, my skin unfortunately can’t tolerate it well at times & I break out instead.

I am currently using the Soon Jung 10-Panthenososide, but I am exploring more options that are really just geared towards oily skin. 

Any product recommendations (toners, essences, ampoules, etc.)  to keep my skin barrier happy and healthy?

Skin Barrier Products for Oily Skin

I’ve been seeing so much hype around Hyaluronic acid for the longest time & I have yet to try or buy a product that focuses solely on this. I used to think that an oily person like me didn’t really need Hyaluronic acid, but I’m definitely more convinced that I should buy one now. What are your thoughts on this & if you love hyaluronic acid, any product suggestions?

I struggle with texture due to having extremely oily skin. I’ve read a few articles saying hyaluronic acid actually works in reducing them. Does HA work for you in this aspect? Or do you have other ampoules or toners that reduce skin texture?

It has been so hot and humid lately, and my oily skin is literally sweating off every skincare product I apply. 

My skin can’t handle the tacky finish of a lot of Niacinamide serums, and I am wondering if there are serums out there that absorb quickly into the skin. So far, I’ve been using the TIAM Vita B3 Source, and I’m hoping to find serums with this type of consistency that’s just lightweight.

Any serum suggestions that sink into the skin immediately and is lightweight? It doesn’t have to be a niacinamide serum! 💛

The Lightest Serums for Oily Skin

I’ve always wondered what the real effects of centella are due to the hype around it. Has centella worked for you in eliminating breakouts completely & does it really fade post-acne marks?

Can feel quite sticky at first, but it’s nothing too crazy or bothersome.

My holy grail product! I absolutely love this moisturizer because it keeps my skin moisturized throughout the night. 

When do I use this? Everyday, night. 

Would I recommend this? 

Definitely! Such a good moisturizer to have that seals everything up at night. My skin always feels happy &amp; hydrated after using this. Someone with combo-oily skin could benefit from this product.

The airless pump is my only concern about this product. It takes forever to dispense the product out.

This is by far one of my favorite products ever, performance wise. It just effectively works in lightening post-acne marks &amp; healing active breakouts. The texture is lovely too, and it does not feel too heavy layering a moisturizer on top of this.

How I use this?
⭐️ PM, almost every night! My skin is always problematic, so this helps keep it at bay. 
⭐️ Before my moisturizer. 
⭐️ I use slightly more than a pea size and apply it on the problematic areas. 

Would I recommend? 

This is absolutely life changing for me! Such a good all-in-one product. Worth the repurchase.

Nothing bad about this product, but this is not a stand-alone product that could solve skin issues. A serum is still needed to boost its efficacy.

I had a pleasant experience trying this product, and I wouldn’t mind repurchasing! It’s lightweight (no viscosity), sinks into the skin immediately, and bundles up all the good ingredients that an oily person like me needs. It also provides a decent amount of hydration, which is perfect for the hot and humid weather. 

Great points about this product: 
⭐️ Versatility — can be a morning&#47;night toner in my opinion because of its good ingredients. This can be the “treatment” portion in the morning, and this can also be the boosting toner to use at night. 
⭐️ Price point — definitely a steal because it is quite cheap, considering its concoction of good ingredients. 

Overall, I’d recommend this product to anyone looking for a starting Niacinamide toner!

One of those products that literally is water, but better. Persoanlly, as someone who lives in a hot and humid climate, I tend to reach for lightweight toners or products in general. Discovering this product was an instant connection for some extremely odd reason because it literally is water with a few calming ingredients, such as panthenol. However, I am not complaining at all. 

How I use this: I use this as my first step &amp; layer 1-2 layers of this product on my face. 

Star Ingredients: Panthenol, Green Tea Water, Coconut Water [no fragrance, but it has a subtle scent that I absolutely love]

My Rating: 4.5~5&#47;5  

Overall thoughts: this is a great product if you simply want to hydrate &amp; be gentle with your skin. Don’t expect much from it in terms of performance, and only purchase this if you just feel like pampering your skin with “nutritious water” or if your skin is extremely sensitive since this has a very short ingredient list.

Nothing bad to say about this product, but I am yet to see its abilities in terms of preventing breakouts &amp; controlling sebum production, which is the main reason why I bought this.
