Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution
Solution = Serum… or toner? This feels like a cross between the two, especially because alcohol is the second ingredient on the list. The solution is quickly absorbed by the skin and has a cooling, astringent sensation. This is particularly noticeable on the sides of the nose and on the upper lip, so perhaps skip those areas if you have sensitive skin. 3 drops is good for the T-zone, while 4-5 drops is enough for the whole face. It also has the telltale fresh herbal scent of tea tree oil products and a smooth feel on the skin once it dries.
In terms of immediate results, I don’t see an improvement overnight when applied to blemishes and heat rashes (as opposed to the speedier overnight results I get from another tea tree facial oil I am using). This is the type of tea tree oil skincare that’s more adept for daily use to achieve a gradual effect instead of a quickie spot treatment. Since The Body Shop has an entire tea tree blemish line, it’s probably safe to assume that this was formulated to be used along with the other items in the line for better efficacy.
Verdict: I find that The Body Shop Tea Tree Solution is a suitable blemish care maintenance for days where thin layers of skincare are ideal. Following up with a hydrating lotion, emulsion, or moisturizer is ideal to offset any dryness that could result from the alcohol content. If you’re looking for summertime skincare that can potentially ward off blemishes, do give this a try.
The astringent, stinging sensation may be intolerable for some.
