I love the idea of a rollerball sunscreen. Unfortunately, the convienence of it was lost on me when I tried one. The roller didn’t get much product on my skin, and once I managed to get some out, the plastic ball lost friction and no longer turned.  I also didn’t love the consistency of the product, a thin liquid that left an objectionable filmy feeling on my skin.  Has anyone had a better experience with rollerball sunscreen?  Do I just need to try a brand other than Banana Boat?  Let me know  ⬇️ ⬇️

Rollerball SPF — better in theory?

The nozzle is a bit weird, I’ll attach a photo. There’s always product left in the opening, but I guess it’s fine since the lid is shut.

Best American facial sunscreen I’ve tried.  It starts off as a thick siliconey gel, but spreads nicely with a little body heat.  It needs a minute or two to sink in, and I find it only sinks in fully on my cheeks as opposed to my oilier t-zone.  I don’t find the feeling of it on my face too objectionable, though.  I presume this would be awesome for dry skin.  I appreciate that I can put it near my eyes without worrying too much about dripping. 

It has a strong fruit scent that doesn’t go away once it dries. It didn’t irritate my skin or anything but I don’t want to smell like a desert pear or whatever. 

In addition, it doesn’t absorb into the skin as fully as I would like. It kind of feels like a moisturizer, which could be good for someone but not for me. 

Decent texture. I feel like I get good coverage from this sunscreen on my body. It’s also inexpensive, which is why I bought it in the first place. 

I think sun sticks are just not my preferred way to apply. Due to the nature of a solid stick, it has to have a wax or butter, which tends to feel heavy on my skin. This is, however, the best stick I’ve tried.

This stick has a silicone-y feel to it, which I don’t have a problem with. It applies smoothly and easily. It’s a good size for face application and throwing in your bag.

I did not realize this sunscreen was a hybrid mineral / chemical product and probably would not have bought it if I had known.  It has a strong smell that I don’t love, and if you have any body hair whatsoever it will be more difficult to rub in without a white cast. I would not recommend it for facial application, as I tried that and my face felt oily and dried out at the same time afterwards.  I wouldn’t buy it again just cause I think there’s bound to be better products out there, but I will be finishing what I have.

Honestly, my favorite thing about this product is the price. I got a tube for under $5 on Stylevana.  It also feels better than any American sunscreen I’ve tried in that it sinks into my skin quickly and does not leave a greasy or filmy feeling on my arms or legs. 

Can’t believe I’m the first one to review this product on Picky! I know it’s not a very exciting face wash, but y’all are missing out. This is my most reliable skincare product. It gets my skin clean without drying it out or causing any sort of squeaky or tight texture, and I know it’ll never irritate my skin or make me break out. I appreciate that it’s solid, very convenient. I cut it up into mini bars and it lasts forever.
