Does anyone have any products or particular ingredients to suggest for flattening and fading scars? I had stitches in my face last winter and those areas have white scarring now. Any ideas??

I don’t see very much talk about Paula’s Choice here. Just wondering if anyone has general thoughts about the products or if there’s any that worked well with your skin.

I think this broke me out because it was too heavy or occlusive. Maybe I needed to apply less, but I find it hard to spread the product. When you try to pat it in, it feels very concentrated in just that one place, so you need more product for the other areas. I used this at the same time as a retinol cream so I’m not sure which one was making me break out.

This has a great list of ingredients but I am unfortunately not a fan of this. I think it might be better for people with dry or combo skin but I am very oily, and so it was just too heavy for me. When applied with ny hands, it leaves a soft and velvety finish to my fingers, which feels amazing. On the face though, it felt too heavy. There is a little bit of scent but it’s not too strong.

 I am not really a fan of chemical exfoliation so I tend not to use this one very often. With the packaging it’s also tough to control how much of the product comes out when you pour it out. I often pour out too much and then for sanitary reasons I don’t put it back in. 

 This is an interesting cleanser that comes in a white powder that looks exactly like baking soda. To use it you press the button in front for the cap to open and then dispense into your hand. You only need a little bit and then you add some water, rub your hands together, and it will lather. For anyone who likes physical exfoliation that is gentle, this might be a good one for you because the powder is quite fine and just feels like a little bit of sandiness when you rub it on your face.

It says to use 4-5 drops on face and neck and I find that is too much because it feels too wet and like it’s not sinking into the skin. It’s easy to get coverage of all your skin this way but then it leaves a film on your face instead of feeling residue-less. There are other serums I prefer which don’t do that. 

I was impressed by the affordability and the concentration of hyaluronic acid in this. It definitely gives a good hydration boost and is easy to layer under moisturizer, spf, or makeup. I found that after two days of use, my dry flakes were gone and my skin was more hydrated overall. There is no scent and it’s easy to use the dispenser. 

There’s a somewhat minty sensation and scent which reminds me of Clean and Clear white cream cleansers. It’s nothing too strong but that’s a negative association for me. 

This is a great cleansing gel. I use a bit more than a pea size and it foams well, cleans, and wakes up the skin. My skin never feels dry or tight afterwards so I believe the claim that this is ph balancing and doesn’t strip away any essential nutrients or oils. 

 Like I said, it can pill a little when layered with multiple other things. Personally, I have not had less oil but that’s likely because my face is extremely oily. I will keep using it up to see if there is any difference.

This is like using both a skin care and makeup in one product. It works well as a primer but it’s not necessary to wear make up if you don’t want to. The product goes on smooth with the skin and can be layered at different steps in your routine, but I think it does pill a little when you are using too many products and if some of the others in your routine are thicker consistency. I think it helps to control oil once you’ve used it enough for your skin to get used to it. There is no smell and the bottle is nice.
