Looking for serum recommendations that will help mostly with barrier repair.

 Bonus if it'll also help with dark spots / acne!

Serum Recommendations - Barrier Repair + Acne

I always hear positive things about tretinoin helping people with acne. Has anyone here not seen results with it? 

I've been using it for 7-8 months and haven't noticed much of a difference so wondering if maybe it isn't effective for my skin and I should try something else instead.... 


I'm using a Curology formula and built up my tolerance so I use it every night.

Does Tretinoin Really Work?

I'm looking for a SPF with a tint to cover my acne + hyperpigmentation but one that also won't leave my face a oily mess or break me out. 

Been eyeing the SuperGoop Mattescreen for weeks now but am hesitant because of the price.

Wondering if any of you lovely people know of something similar/better that might fit my needs? Or maybe I should just pull the trigger on SuperGoop.

Tinted/Primer SPF for oily/acne skin?

Anyone else going through a change with their skin where it's completely different and you're no longer able to figure out what it likes? 

Took me a decade to finally figure out my skin and feed it what it likes. Then BAM. 7 months ago it's completely changed and now I feel like I'm raising a moody teenager who won't tell me what it wants/needs...

Now I'm scrambling, trying different formulations and ingredients to see if my new skin will like it. But it's hard to tell when I no longer have a solid baseline of the basics, (cleanser, moisturizer and SPF).

I think my new skin likes the Cerave PM moisturizer... but unfortunately that's the only thing I've figured out. 😓

New Skin, Who Dis?

Hello! Started my tretinoin journey 4 weeks ago. Not much progress yet with PIE and acne. Know it will take time so looking to see if I should add in something else to at least help speed up the process of my PIE hyperpigmentation, especially since I am only using the tretinoin 2 times a week to minimize overexfoliating.

I already have niacinamide and azelaic acid in my routine. Have been staying away from vitamin c as I find that it oxidizes way too quickly (maybe that's just my bad luck haha). 

So far I've been looking into ingredients like tranexemic acid and alpha arbutin and came across the following products:

PIE Hyperpigmentation Recommendations

I can&#39;t be sure if the petrolatum was clogging my pores or not. I stopped using it when my acne became persistent. It&#39;s been about 5 months since I stopped using this and my acne is still bad so I&#39;m pretty sure it wasn&#39;t because of this cream. I will most definitely try it out again when my acne is a bit better to see if it was making my acne worse. Hopefully not though as I love the hydration and texture of this product!

Was surprised that even though I am combo oily, my skin seemed to really love this cream. It glided on beautifully and left almost a matte velvet texture that kept my skin hydrated all night long! I have yet to find another cream that does the same.

Might be too oily for oilier skin types. I like to wear this at night when its ok to look like a glazed donut before bed. But I find that wearing it during the day makes my combo skin look too oily.

Very unique experience. It uses a bursting technology to go from cream to a watery oil on your skin. Would recommend rubbing it directly into your face rather than rubbing between your hands first. If you keep working it into your skin, your skin will drink it up!

It does a good job of not stripping my skin after cleansing.

Yikes. What is going on with the formulation?? At the beginning of the year every influencer was raving about this. So when I needed a new spf I was so excited to try this and purchased it towards the end of summer. They must&#39;ve started doing something new to the formula because mine was so gritty it felt like St. Ives scrub. I even shook the bottle to see if the grains would dissapate. I tried so hard to find a way to keep using this but it irritates my skin with the grit. Looking at other recent reviews, looks like other people experienced the same. Hope FAB figures out what went wrong......

Even though the texture felt slightly oily, when worked into the face the finish was surprisingly matte with a slight glow. The tint also worked nicely with my skin tone.

May be a bit too heavy to wear during the day for oilier skin types.

Great for combo skin! Ceramides help prevent TEWL but is still lightweight enough for oily skin types
