I just started using Tretinoin and was curious what products I should absolutely avoid during the day, night, or all together when using it. 

I’ve been using vitamin C during the day with my sunscreens and during the night I double layer my Cerave moisturizer, but I was curious if it interacts with panthenol moisturizers at all. 

Just in general what’s some advice you’d give to a new Tretinoin user and what’s a good day and night routine?

What are some serums or actives that are ok to use during the day when there’s sun exposure involved?

I’ve been using The Ordinary’s Ascrobic Acid (Vitamin C) serum mixed in with the Cerave lotion and top that off with my Biore UV Aqua sunscreen, but was curious if there are any other serums I can use during the day. 

I used to use exfoliating products like niacinimide during the AM but realized that it was only making my dark spots worse…

The Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine
🌿 It leaves my face feeling moisturized
🌿 It’s not heavy or greasy on my skin
🌿 It doesn’t leave a shiny film like some other products that makes you look too dewy
🌿 There’s a rougher and softer side to the pad. I recommend using the softer side on your face and the rougher side on your body or neck
🌿 The pad makes it good to exfoliate and get rid of dead skin that clumps up
🌿 The grape scent is SOOO good it reminds me of japanese grape candy

🥀 Not a good product for sensitive skin
🥀 The pad might be too harsh on your skin 
🥀 There’s some fragrance
🥀 Could get more product if you just get a toner that’s similar to the formula
🥀 Does make me feel like I’m rubbing candy syrup on my face because of the smell

Dermalogy Real Vita C Serum
🌿 A more lightweight vitamin C serum
🌿 I like the feeling of this one a lot better than others
🌿 Makes my skin feel moiturized and nourished

🥀 It contains lemon extract which is a huge no for me
🥀 Because of the lemon extract, there’s a strong lemon scent 
🥀 I haven’t seen any noticeable improvements to my skin but I’ll have to use it for longer and update this review

Dermalogy Real Ferment Micro Essence
🌿 Very light weight on the skin and soaks right in it leaves no residue at all
🌿 Very hydrating for how light it is
🌿 Good base for layering other products
🌿 Has niacinimide which is a fan favorite

Real Flower Cleansing Water Calendula
🌿 A gentle cleanser that gets rid of every day grime and oil
🌿 Helps to hydrate the skin after it’s washed off

🥀 Very strong scent
🥀 Doesn’t clean as much as others like it like micellar water 
🥀 Wouldn’t recommend it as a cleanser to get rid of heavy makeup 
🥀 Wouldn’t recommend leaving it on the skin
🥀 Nothing revolutionary

NEOGEN Giveaway Review

Hi all. I recently started Tretinoin and am experiencing the worst acne of my life and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. 

I really need some motivation to continue using it so I was wondering how you’ve dealt with the purging process I’d you also had a really bad acne break out like me. Also, how did you deal with it/make it better?

🥀 Centella, the star ingredient, is almost last on the ingredient list with 970ppm. I’m not sure what amount is normal for centella products but that seems like nothing
🥀 Has a pretty strong lavender fragrance 
🥀 Wish alcohol wasn’t so high up on the ingredient list
