A lot of cica and centella products actually don’t have very high amounts in them but in recent years there’s been a lot coming out that have very high amounts, i’d like to try some really concentrated ones to see what it can do for me.

What’s the most effective Centella product you’ve tried?

I’m not sure when it came out but I just checked because my app wasn’t running very well and there was an update available.

It’s rare to find products that contain urea, that was the big selling point for me about this product because urea is an excellent humectant and also helps with skin texture. Beyond that it has 5 types of hyaluronic acid. It is free of fragrance, alcohal and essential oils, all of which can irritate skin. It is a great value and doesn’t irritate my super sensitive skin, it’s one of my favorite products of all time. They also offer eco-conscious refill pouchs that cost less and use less plastic.

Potentially not hydrating or gentle enough for people with extremely dry and sensitive skin.

packaging:
The packaging is attractive and functional. Formerly sold in a glass bottle it is now only available in plastic, this is not my preference however it does lessen the chances of it breaking in transit.

texture and scent:
This is a milky toner that separates in the bottle, so it should be shaken before each use. It has nice slip and does not feel grainy on the skin whatsoever. There is no added fragrance and the only detectable scent is a subtle rice smell which I find pleasant. 

formula:
Major points for being free of fragrance, essential oils, alcohol and dyes. It claims to be hydrating and brightening, and while the formula contains rice and niacinamide which are proven brightening ingredients, I found the ingredient list a bit lacking in hydrating humectants, considering that most of my toners contain glycerin or hyaluronic acid and this has neither. Being as I have very dry skin I don’t find this hydrating enough so I use this as more of an essence and sandwich it between a layer of watery, hydrating, high-glycerin toner and a hydrating serum. I tend to use toner all over my whole face including my eyelids and I did find this product stung a bit around my eyes. I believe this is due to the high  niacinamide content. 

Rating:
I’ll give this four out of five stars. I think it’s a good product but not a holy grail for my dry, sensitive skin. I would recommend it to people with oily or combo skin. If you’ve never tried this brand and want to purchase just one product to try I would say go for the I’m From Mugwort Essence instead of this because that is fantastic.

Be careful if you’re sensitive to niacinamide. I have a very sensitive skin so this did sting my skin a little bit around my eyes.

I only use fragrance free products because they’re better for my sensitive skin, I have to avoid some cosrx products because of essential oils so I was happy to find that this product is truly fragrance free.

This is medium weight with a gel-cream texture, it comes in a tube. It’s star ingredient is Panthenol, also known as vitamin B5 and this contains an impressive 10% of it. B5 is a humectant which helps skin to attract and retain water, it’s soothing and anti-inflammatory and encourages lipid production in the skin which fortifies the moisture barrier. The third ingredient after water and panthenol is sunflower oil which is naturally very high in linoleic acid, another ingredient that fortifies the moisture barrier. Additionally, it contains glycerin and several types of hyaluronic acid which are skin identical, moisturizing humectants which can help hydrate skin. This formula is meant to hydrate, soothe and strengthen skin but is lacking in antioxidants so I recommend applying it after an antioxidant rich serum. 

I recommend this cream especially for people that are experiencing irritation from a damaged moisture barrier or are looking for an nice cream to buffer retinoids. The formula is free of fragrance, essential oils and drying alcohols making it a good choice for sensitive skin. I found it did not irritate my sensitive skin whatsoever, it absorbed quickly to a mostly matte finish and played well with other products without pilling or feeling greasy. I recommend this for every skin type except very oily. COSRX is a cruelty free brand.

I think it works great I have no complaints.

I use this before the COSRX snail mucin 96, it’s a very gentle exfoliater that doesn’t dry out my dry, sensitive skin and I love that it’s fragrance free. It’s watery but a little bit viscous with a little bit of body to it, it’s slightly thicker than an  average toner. I find the price cery reasonable.
