Any niacinamide recommendation or any brightening serum that can help me brighten the dark areas of my face?

I am currently on my second bottle of The Ordinary Niacinamide, but upon using the second bottle I feel like the product itself changed? My first bottle has the watery kind and the second bottle is kinda thick and sticky compared to the first one.
