Just saw videos and articles on the new beauty trend of "sunscreen contouring" and I'm just horrified how this is actually trending on TikTok.

I'm just going to paste the content here so you guys get a better idea of what sunscreen contouring even means:

“Sunscreen contouring” is the latest tactic some young women are using to get their perfect summer look.

On TikTok, an LA model, Eli Withrow, 24, posted a video about her tip for “feeling snatched all summer”.

To do this, she applied different layers and levels of suncream to her face so that different areas tanned at different rates.

She places less or no UV protection where she wanted her face to go darker – under her cheekbones, the sides of her nose and on her forehead.

Then she put more sunscreen on her chin, above her cheekbones, on the bridge of her nose and around her eyes. /End/

Don't do it guys, this is such a horrible idea 😂😂😂

"Sunscreen Contouring" is a big no

Just sharing some of my favourite waterproof sunscreens that are super reliable and durable.

I just got back from a beach vacation and I'm glad to report that I am not sunburnt at all. I pretty much used up a bottle of sunscreen per day (lol I'm not kidding) 😂

Overall all of the sunscreens mentioned did a great job preventing sunburns, despite all the water activities I was doing all day.

💗 I am especially in love with the refreshing and moisturizing texture of the Kose Suncut sunscreens (repurchased multiple times with my own money). I would highly recommend this Suncut series if you are looking for a reliable + comfortable waterproof sunscreen that is good for both face & body.

😎 That said, never forget to wear sunglasses, hats and UPF clothing whenever possible, to ensure higher UV protection.

Waterproof Sunscreens for Beach Days

Just a question for those of you who have to wear mask on a daily basis these days, do you apply sunscreen to your whole face or just the areas that are exposed (not covered by the mask)?

Having skincare + sunscreen under my mask causes my skin to feel excessively stuffy sometimes, so I have already reduced my skincare routine to more light weight products, but my cheeks under the mask still gets irritated sometimes. 

Just wondering if I should just not apply sunscreen on areas under the mask, since the friction might just remove most of the sunscreen too. Thoughts?

Full face or half face sunscreen?

Just discovered this new brand on Instagram and came here to realize there aren't reviews on picky yet.

I recently received a parcel from SKIN1004 as a best reviewer(s) gift. I was mindblown that they included EVERY product from the brand 🙀✨

I've only tried SKIN1004's main centella line and I LOVE the products. I think most of us are currently enjoying their centella toner and ampoule too!

Have you tried their other products? I can't decide which to start using!

Trying EVERYTHING from SKIN1004

First off, a squeeze tube would have been ideal for gels of this consistency. I dislike how unhygienic and clumsy it is to use a jar for this gel. 

This gel also leaves a slightly tacky finish, which is why I don&#39;t particularly enjoy using it for my AM routine (I don&#39;t like the feeling of my hair sticking to the sides of my face). 

However, I also find this gel to be insufficient as the last layer for my PM routine (even after layering essences and serums). I find the need to add a few drops of facial oil to this gel at night because it doesn&#39;t have an ideal water oil balance for my combination skin, it lacks moisture. 

Overall I find this product to be too mediocre and expensive to repurchase, wouldn&#39;t really recommend even though it is an ok product.

True to it&#39;s name, this is a water gel that feels so light and refreshing on the skin. The moment I glide this over my face, I can feel the burst of hydration and an instant cooling sensation. It is very comfortable and light weight, leaving a breathable hydrating film on my skin. Visibly, there is no shiny greasy appearance upon full absorption.

Aside from the star ingredient of vitamin tree &#47; sea buckthorn, it also contains niacinamide, which is a great multi tasking ingredient. Making this an ideal gel for hydration and subtle brightening. There was also no noticeable fragrance, the gel just smells like a generic product smell. 

Since this is a light weight gel, layering with other skincare products is easy. I didn&#39;t notice any pilling with different combination of products.

Whenever I apply it, the edges of my lips turn red.  😵
But the redness subsides after ten minutes of so without irritation.

Very watery and runny texture that gets absorbed into skin very quickly.

Function 5&#47;5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It provides a skin softening sensation, as your skin feels noticeably softer after product is absorbed. Pores have a less noticeable appearance after longer usage.

Packaging 4&#47;5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Product is too runny, so you probably need to use some cotton pad for application. However I prefer to use my hands (so I don&#39;t waste product lol), but it also means I need to transfer it into a foaming or spray bottle so it does not drip everywhere.

✨ My experience: I usually enjoy moisturizing sunscreens but somehow I didn't like this as much. The dewy finish builds up to an almost greasy look after a few hours, even without an additional moisturizer 🥲
 
I tried to use this under make up and it made my eye make up smear (due to the moisturizing content). My foundation also started to cake, so this is definitely not make up friendly ❌
 
IMO this would be better for dry climate or if you'll be in an AC space all day.
 
However for the price of USD17 for 50g on Wishtrend, I find this neither cheap nor expensive and wouldn't really repurchase. I'll be using the rest of my tube mainly on my body 💁🏻‍♀️

✨ Texture: Smooth lotion texture spreads easily, easy to blend and has no white cast. Dewy finish even on my dehydrated skin.


Nothing bad but if you have oily skin, try to minimize other skincare products while using. Or even consider using powder on top of you want a more matte finish. Probably not great for sweaty activities as well. 

Great sunscreen that can double up as SPF and also as a moisturizer. Moisturizing with a dewy finish, but isn't too greasy. Has no white cast and it so easy to blend out and layer with skincare or make up. 

I find this application and finish to be almost identical to the BOJ sunscreen. Would recommend these interchangeably tbh. 

Would be great for combination to dry skin types! 

Nothing. Hopefully the price can be cheaper? So I can buy more lol

Liquidy like a light emulsion texture. It is not runny like water, but not oily or greasy. Just the right amount of body to make application with hands very enjoyable and convenient.

Hydrates and also moisturizes my skin on a deeper level than other toners. Provides a wonderful hydrating &#47; moisturizing film on my face. On some days, it can even replace my moisturizer if I layer it. Plays well with other products too!

Straightforward dispenser that works well with the consistency of this product. Also the frosted look is kind of aesthetically pleasing lol.

There&#39;s just something very satisfying about using this product. It soothes my skin immensely and also deeply hydrates it at the same time. This is definitely one of my favorite rice skincare products ever! 

The balance between water and oil is perfect, it leaves your skin feeling very plump but no heavy occlusive sensation. I go through bottles of this really fast because of how much I love it for both day and night! I own this and also laneige cream skin, which I also enjoy, but this is definitely the true winner for me!
