I feel like lately everyone wants the “dewy” look. Even though I have dryer skin I still prefer the matte look, but still glowy.
Sometimes it’s hard to find a good balance.

Which should I pick?

I know picky doesn’t really have a section for dental health. But I think pickies are also the type to care for their all around aesthetics.

Getting a water flosser has made me the most consistent I’ve ever been with flossing and has in turn helped minimize some long term plaque build up. Like I’ve literally had it for years and haven’t been able to afford a professional cleaning.

I’ve also experienced less random pains and better gum health

Recently a step I’ve been taking to mitigate irritation from retinoid is to use it as a wash off mask. I got it from labmuffinbeautyscience’s vid a while back.

How I do it is most times I’ll apply the retinoid about an hour or two before I know I’ll do my skin care routine. Then when it comes time to do my routine, I just wash it off and proceed with hydrating barrier repair routine.

When I feel my skin can handle it, I may start using it overnight. But it’s really about finding what works for you and setting a good pace for yourself. I’ve  found that this has helped reduce a lot of irritation and get me acclimated to retinoids lot faster.

* A lot of people are asking about the sandwich method. And I am currently using the sandwich method, but I started after using this short contact therapy method to get my skin acclimated to retinoids.

Because when I had done it initially my skin had still reacted negatively to the retinoid, and was very dry
