It does contain fragrance - so for those who are sensitive to fragrance or prefer to not have it in their skincare, you might want to skip this one!

As someone with oily skin I am constantly on the look out for a moisturiser that gives me the hydration I need, but not weighing me down and leaving my face feeling suffocated!

This product is formulated with 70% (!) Centella Asiatica Leaf Water and 10% Tea Tree Water to help sooth and brighten the skin. It also contains occlusive ingredients that help seal in all that moisture and keep your skin feeling hydrated. 

One of the product claims states it’s ‘Brightening &amp; Wrinkle Improvement’ - I can attest to it brightening my skin somewhat, however I have not seen any visible improvements to the fine lines around my eye area or nose.

This product does have a very mild (but pleasant) fragrance as well as containing essential oils - so worth noting in case you are sensitive to fragrance components and &#47; or looking to avoid these.

All in all a fab gel cream that I would highly recommend!

This has been known to stain peoples skin due to the colour of the product - one to watch out for!

I’m not even going to pretended I understand half the stuff NIOD write on their website about their products, but I do know I enjoy this serum.

A serum packed to the brim with antioxidants and technology we’ll never understand, I’m going to attempt to break it down…

NIOD Survival 0 - what is it!?

An antioxidant rich serum, that has been designed to protect against environmental stressors, blue light, pollution, smog and stressed skin. 

Whilst the Survival range do offer SPF, the ‘0’ indicates this particular serum has no SPF, and is designed for nighttime use.

Cool. But How?! 

Purified Lutein: an antioxidant the helps protect against blue light (both UV and emitted from electronic devices)

Superoxide Dismutase: fights and combats oxidative damage, and supports in reducing the look of inflammation

Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol: there to fight against radicals formed as a result of UV, stress and pollution exposure.

Fractionated Melanin: there to protect the skin against high energy visible light; a light primarily from the sun, but also emitted from our smartphones, tablets and computer screens (basically everywhere!)

Tomato Carotenoid Complex: reduces the appearance of redness caused by light exposure.

Purified Deep-Sea Algae (Alteromonas Ferment): helps to form a ‘physical shield’ on the skin to protect against daily pollution

Yeah I still don’t get it!!

How about this:

A lightweight, watery consistency serum, that is an absolute powerhouse of antioxidants. It glides onto the skin effortlessly, skins in like a dream and has a very pleasant, musky scent.

It’s designed to help support healthy looking and feeling skin with its ingredients, and could be an alternative for those who are sensitive to vitamin C products.

One I will most definitely be repurchasing 🤌🏻

I wish LRP did a supersize tube as I can go through it very quickly with it being multipurpose!

⭐️Fantastic at soothing irritated skin

Initially I bought this to help with shaving irritation I sometimes get on my neck, and it does a great job post shave at really soothing the skin and bringing down redness.

Curiously got the better of me though, and I tried a small amount all over my face in my PM routine, which I ended up loving. Now use this when having a night off from actives and want to repair the skin barrier; I wake up the next day with beautifully hydrated skin that just feels calm, relaxed and less red.

I take the smallest amount (approx. pea size or slightly less) for all over my face and then slightly more on my neck and work it all in. It disappears quickly and the end result is a semi matt, super hydrated complexion that feels calmed and soothed.

The balm contains 5% panthenol to help deliver an immediate soothing sensation for angry, irritated skin. It’s also multi-purpose and can be used all over the body, including on eczema, dry patches and small scrapes and grazes.

I think this is fantastic product to have in your skincare routine, first aid kit, or just within reach when you’re in need of a really nourishing and repairing cream.

Repurchase? Definitely, I love this stuff!

High level thoughts:

⭐️Doesn’t feel ‘heavy’ on the skin vs some other sunscreens I’ve used
⭐️Didn’t irritate my eye area when applying it to eyelids etc (big plus!)

My experience of using it has been fantastic and at £7.00 in the UK, I think it’s a super affordable and accessible sunscreen, which would work for so many skin types.

I have used this with a multitude of different skincare products to test its pairing ability, and each time it has worked flawlessly. I have not experienced any pilling, irritation, white cast, stickiness or congestion of the skin.

One thing I really enjoy about this sunscreen is how lightweight it is; it just sweeps onto the skin so easy and has a really fast absorption rate. Once the product is on and worked in, it doesn’t leave a greasy or sticky finish and I have found it to work incredibly well with my oily skin.

I think this is a fantastic all round product that could work for so many skin types, provide really good UV protection and is more accessible and affordable to the everyday consumer. Fantastic job Garner!

The Inkey List Tranexamic Acid Night Treatment...alternative to the Good Molecules Discolouration Correcting Serum?

This is theinkeylists answer to hyperpigmentation, brighter skin and fading of dark spots.

High level thoughts:

⭐️Lightweight, gel like texture
⭐️Skins into the skin well
⭐️Pairs with other products without pilling
⭐️Can be a little tacky after application
⭐️Has reduced dark spots and old scarring
⭐️A little goes a long way!

This is very similar to the Good Molecules (GM) Discolouration Correcting Serum, in the way that is uses Tranexamic acid as the main active to help with hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It also contains 2% vitamin C and 2% açai berry, which is antioxidant rich.

The main difference however, and why I wanted to share this, is because unlike the GM serum, it does not contain Niacinamide. Whilst Niacinamide is highly regarded as a holy grail active in the community, not everyone’s skin likes it and as a result can rule out certain products for many individuals.

Both The Inkey List (TIL) and GM serums have helped me with the fading of dark spots (in some cases, completely removing them!), and I personally feel both of the products perform the same.

The main reason I wanted to share this product from TIL is not only for the different formulations, but also accessibility. Whilst GM does ship to the UK, I have always been subject to UK import duties &#47; taxes (no fault of GM I must add!) which is a pain! But this product from TIL can be easily picked up at a local boots store for those in the UK and online retailers.

In conclusion, I think this is a great alternative to the GM serum if you cannot access it, or have found that the product wasn’t suited to your skin. I also feel the price point (£14.99) is very reasonable too!
