I’m wondering if anyone else has this issue! My skin issues definitely seem to change drastically with the season/weather. 🫠

Where I live, the temperature is usually around 60-80°F. Now that it’s cold weather, it’s around 40-60°F and very DRY!  My skin is so dry that it’s literally becoming kinda flaky in areas my face, arms, and hands. ✋😭Maybe it has to do with being in my mid-20s now…or I have sensitive skin?

Does your skin type change with the season?

I’m on the search for a gentle cleanser. I’ve been dealing with really dry and sensitive skin lately. 

In the past I’ve used and loved Aveeno’s oat cleanser. I’m wondering if there’s any other comparable product or another great product you’ve tried that is gentle? I’m hoping to find one that’s less than or around $25 USD, but I’m open to any recommendations. 🙂

Gentle cleanser recommendations?

I’ve used these two moisturizers before and they made my skin so red and full of tiny bumps all over my face for a week. It looked like I got a really bad sun burn. 

I want to know how you guys determine what you’re allergic to or what irritates your skin?

These were the two products that I remember using on separate occasions. 

At the time that I tested these products, I only used a very gentle cleanser and the moisturizer to test out how they were—no serums or exfoliators. 🤔

How do you figure out what ingredient you’re allergic/sensitive to?

I recently got this Isntree toner and I love it. However, after using it I found out the directions say to apply it with a cotton pad: 
“After washing your face, soak a cotton pad with the product, sweep the cotton pad all over the face and pat the product into the skin until absorbed.”

I thought you use cotton rounds/pads for toner when it’s the cleansing type. This one seems like it’s supposed to be a hydrating one. I usually pat those types of toners into my skin…but maybe I’ve been doing it wrong the whole time? 🤔

I feel like product gets wasted when using cotton for a product like this—but maybe I need to use one! Unsure…

When to use cotton rounds for toner?

What’s the hype or deal with La Mer? I only discovered this skincare recently through social media and a moisturizer sample. 🙂

Do they use good ingredients, have I been out of the loop, or is it just marketed as a luxury skincare brand? 

I liked the sample, but the price for full size made me gasp 🤣  0.5oz for $100 is out of my budget, but it was a nice moisturizer!

La Mer?

Overall I recommend it! It has multiple uses, but it’s just not heavy enough for a regular moisturizer. I prefer to use it on my body!

Just like the product’s name, this is a soothing lotion! It’s got a lightweight gel texture and there are a few ingredients for fragrance, but I didn’t notice it at all. It just smells like regular lotion to me! 

When I apply it to my skin it feels cooling and hydrating. It definitely left my face feeling refreshed and not sticky! However, I wouldn’t suggest it for a nightly face moisturizer because it’s too lightweight. It would work perfectly for a morning moisturizer or to apply as after-care for being in the sun. 

I also recommend using it on your body! I’ve really liked using it on my arms where I’m dealing with keratosis pilaris. My skin feels less rough and bumpy after using it on my arms consistently for a week. 

Nothing that I disliked. I recommend it, but not if you’re bothered by fragrance!

This Sun Essense by NACIFIC has a lightweight texture that is easily applied to the skin. It has a natural looking finish, almost as if you didn’t apply sunscreen and there’s no shiny finish. There’s no white cast on my tan skin, it’s SPF 50+ and it’s vegan! What more could you want from a sunscreen? 

It smells a little sweet, like citrus, when applying it, but it’s not very noticeable and I cannot smell it after a few minutes. 

I’ll be honest, I’m super picky when it comes to sunscreen. I don’t like the smell, the texture, the shine, the stinging, the white-cast but I put up with it anyway to protect my skin. I’ve been on the search for an awesome sunscreen, taking suggestions and trying out the most popular ones, but this one works really well for me!

Nothing bad, it just has that generic lip-balm smell to it with a hint of green tea. It’s not my favorite scent, but it’s not bad at all! 

Loving everything about this cleansing balm! It does a great job at gently, but effectively, removing my makeup…including water-proof makeup without irritating or stripping the natural oils from my skin! 

Another great thing about this cleanser is that I don’t feel any oily or greasy residue left on my skin after I wash it off (which I’ve experienced with other cleansing balms). 

The texture is also really pleasantly soft and fun to scoop out of the packaging. I definitely recommend this cleanser! 

I enjoyed everything about this product. There was nothing bad.

SKIN1004 does it again with another awesome centella product. I got to try out the Centella Ampoule. 

This ampoule is full of Centella Extract, making this a super soothing and hydrating product. My skin has been so dry lately and I’ve noticed a difference since using this product. The drier areas of skin on my face have been recovering back to its normal texture since I’ve used this ampoule. 

It has a very watery texture that I love! It’s not sticky at all even when I layer it a few times. It absorbs nicely into my skin too. 

I recommend this centella ampoule if you’re looking to add a simple, but effective step in your skin care routine to soothe and hydrate your skin. 

I disliked the unpleasant tingling I felt after washing it off. The product made my face kinda pink for about 10 minutes, but I was okay after.

Such a spooky looking exfoliating solution! The bottle is very cute and the smell of the product is just okay. It smells like sour apples. I used it once a week for four weeks in a row and I’ve noticed improvement! My skin looks brighter (I have some hyperpigmentation) and my skin just FEELS like it got a deep clean after using. When using it I made sure to strictly keep it on for 50 seconds before washing it off. The bottle says 1 minute, and they REALLY mean that.
