I don’t like the lid of the Black Snail Collagen Cream as it’s quite difficult to lift the lid up the proper way. I always have to open it by trying to pry it open on the sides with my nails as the texture of the cream is slimy. Very gooey. Has that stringy texture. It can be quite ‘messy’ when you’re trying to get it out of the tub. Otherwise, I have nothing much to complain about.

I appreciate that this comes with a plastic spatula. It’s nourishing actually and doesn’t leave my face feeling like I put something heavy on and I am someone with oily skin. It absorbs into my skin pretty fast and doesn’t leave my face feeling sticky. I tried with and without serum on a couple of days and it still nourishes my skin. Even on days I applied a salicylic acid serum or retinol. ✨


Nothing particularly bad for me but if you use this as an emulsion and if your skin is on the drier side, you will have to apply cream on top of it as I don’t think it will be moisturising enough for drier skin type.

I like that the packaging is simple and has that minimalist look to it. Lightweight and easy to spread. It doesn’t irritate my eyes. Some eye cream gets a bit oily that it irritate my eyes but this doesn’t and doesn’t dry my under eye area too. You can even use it as an emulsion all over your face and neck!

Might not provide high coverage. Light to medium coverage but it’s buildable. Not really smudgeproof. However, it stays on face even after 12 hours. If you’re expecting flawless poreless look then this is not it. 

Semi-matte and lightweight. Easy to apply and easy to carry around. Those who like that sort of no makeup look might consider this as it gives off a natural look. Doesn’t make my skin look cakey.

Has a light scent but not overpowering or anything so if you like your product unscented, take note. 

I use this emulsion without using a moisturiser cream after on most days and I’m impressed that it keeps my skin hydrated. I use a cream after on some days if I feel the need to or simply needed more boost of hydration. It is lightweight and easy to spread.

Comes in a form of 100ml. It contains highly concentrated hyaluronic acid, aloe vera extract and plant extract. Ingredients that soothe the skin. Doesn’t irritate the skin. That’s a plus for me!

I’ve used other emulsions before and I always have to follow up with a cream or else an hour or so my skin gets ‘thirsty’ but with this, I can skip the cream part most days. To be honest, I thought this emulsion will be like the other emulsions I have used before but I was wrong! This is probably the best one I have ever used.

If you’re sensitive to fragrance this might not be it for you. It contains orange peel oil and lavender oil. Initially I found the lavender to be a bit too strong but my nose got used to it eventually.

This is my favourite cleanser that I’ve been using in the last couple of years. I’ve repurchased this many times. 
Not only it is affordable, it is gentle on my skin and does its job without leaving the skin feeling tight after washing.
