Visited a TJMaxx store yesterday and found a bunch of First Aid Beauty products for great prices!  It was a breath of fresh air after the Ulta employee tried to sell me every singe FAB product that same day 🤣

As much as I love hearing about amazing products and routines from the Picky community, I’m very curious to know some of your past, cringey skincare mistakes!!  What’s something you used to do to your skin that makes you CRINGE looking back on it?  Or even share something someone else does that makes you wonder how their skin hasn’t fallen off 🤣

Before I knew anything about skincare, I used stuff like Clean and Clear (but I’m sure most of us had went down that road too).  And for some reason, I thought that exfoliating EVERY DAY was a good idea, and I mean physical scrubs... I used so many actives at once because my acne was so bad and it completely destroyed my poor, sensitive skin!
I’m on a much better track now 😅

Skincare Horror Stories?!

Hello all!
Recently I have noticed my skin becoming tight and getting dry patches throughout the day.  BUT, I have never had this problem before and it seems as if it came out of nowhere.  I have not changed my routine in months.  I use the snail mucin moisturizer morning and night, and hyaluronic acid every night.  I drink lots of water everyday so I’m perplexed as to where the dryness is coming from.

Listen, I do not keep up with social media whatsoever... I’m recently seeing so much negative talk about Krave beauty but I am so lost!  I have heard things about their SPF like most other Korean brands at the moment... but most of this seems like immature “cancel culture” to me.  

I personally love the cleanser and I cannot live without the GBR serum! 😅 I plan to repurchase the serum unless there is an outstanding reason I should not be supporting the brand?  
Anyone willing to fill me in.. and other members of the Picky community?

Krave Beauty ..?!

I recently started using a Lactic Acid serum by the Inkey List, and this is my first time trying exfoliating acids.  My skin is very sensitive so I’ve always kept my routine pretty simple, but I’ve been wanting to smooth the tiny bumps and blackheads in my T-Zone. 
I’ve been starting slow and only using it at night every 2-3 days, but my skin has started to purge.  I’ve only been using it on my forehead, nose, and chin since the skin on my cheeks tends to be drier and more sensitive.  After my second use I started seeing tiny bumps popping up on my forehead and chin which I am assuming is skin purging.  
On the days I don’t use lactic acid, I use my hyaluronic acid also by TIL.  I also use the GBR serum by Krave every night, and moisturize with the Snail 92 Cream by CosRx.

Any tips or product recommendations to help control purging?  Or do I just have to wait it out?

I personally dislike the packaging a lot, I wish it came in a pump bottle or at least came with a spatula to make it more sanitary.  I felt like i needed to use a lot of product on days that my skin felt dry, which tells me this would not be suitable for those with dry skin.

My sensitive, oily skin LOVES this stuff, clearly because I used up every last drop of it!!  It’s very lightweight and doesn’t clog my pores or make me look greasy.  It has a nice cooling feeling which makes it my favorite summer moisturizer.  The green tea instantly soothes my skin and it never stings or burns.  Perfect amount of moisture and hydration for my skin type!

The only thing that bothered me with my first use was the scent.  It definitely smells sort of earthy (?) because of the matcha.  It really only bothered me the first few days, but now I don’t even notice it.

Finished off my first bottle and immediately bought two more, and this is now the only cleanser i will use!!  I love how gentle it is and it’s never irritating or stripping.  The jelly texture took some getting used to at first, but I enjoy the light lather and it feels so silky on the skin. I think this is a perfect cleanser for every skin type and anyone just starting out in skincare.  The presense of matcha in this cleanser is loaded with antioxidants which I love to keep the skin healthy!

This is a very basic, affordable serum that hydrates the skin as it says.  For me this also means that there are other products out there with added benefits for that little extra money.  This is a great addition to any routine for any skintype, but very basic (but this is what The Inkey List products are supposed to be like). 
I also agree with many other Picky users that I don’t love the bottle.  I think it would be much better in a pump or dropper.

An amazing, basic HA serum for everyone!  It’s very lightweight and watery, never greasy or oily.  Feels so refreshing and makes my skin feel like it’s had a big glass of water 💦 my other serums and moisturizer absorb beautifully after using this; makes my skin feel silky and soft.  I have seen a visual difference in my winter skin, feels much more hydrated and less dull.
