Favourite Mask?

Hi! I'm looking for a creamy cleanser. I use the La Roche-Posay toleriane hydrating cleanser right now, but I would like to try new ones! Which ones are your faves? ❤️

Milky/Creamy Cleanser

I want to use a 2-5% niacinamide product, but I'm having trouble finding any at such a low percentage. I'm currently using the freederm treatment gel that has 4% nicotinamide/niacinamide, but I want to try a different niacinamide product once I finish this.

If you know of any, please recommend them below! If not, what are your favourite niacinamide products? 💫

💫  𝑴𝒚 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆:
Has a milky consistency and doesn&#39;t foam up. It&#39;s really gentle on my skin, hasn&#39;t triggered my eczema, hasn&#39;t caused acne. It doesn&#39;t leave my skin feeling dry after using, meaning it supports my skin barrier!

🌿 𝑲𝒆𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔:

🌱 Niacinamide; This ingredient helps treat hyperpigmentation, barrier-repair ingredient, minimizes redness, protects your skin from sun damage, helps with sun damaged skin, helps with inflammatory acne, good for eczema prone skin, oil control (regulates how much oil your skin produces which would also help with acne and dry skin).

🌱 Tocopherol; This is vitamin E, it&#39;s an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient---protects your skin against free radicals, supports your skin barrier.

🌱 Glycerin and Ceramide Np; These are humectants, they help you keep a healthy skin barrier. They keep your skin hydrated in turn making your skin softer&#47;less dry. 

🌱 Panthenol; This is vitamin B5, it sooths red&#47;inflamed skin and helps retain moisture. This ingredient is commonly used in minor wound healing.

🥀 This formula is very irritating for me, just a note--I have eczema prone skin (irritation was still manageable). I&#39;m not sure if it&#39;s because of the high amount of dimethicone? It also felt hard to spread, and seemed not to completely ~sink~ into my skin. By this I mean, in the morning when I would wash my face I felt that layer of cream I had put on the night before.

🥀 After using this and getting a 15% azelaic acid gel (Finacea) I thought the gel would be even more irritating. But that wasn&#39;t the case at all, the gel was better tolerated, well absorbed and easily spread. Still itchy, but not as much as the ordinary azelaic acid. Maybe that means TO&#39;s azelaic acid preped my skin for it? Not sure.

🌺 𝑻𝒊𝒑:
If you&#39;re looking to lessen your acne, PIE, PIH, rosacea, etc. Then you should give azelaic acid a try starting with a 10% and working your way up to 15-20%! It takes a while to see results. I would suggest finding a different formulation though, if you don&#39;t like dimethicone.

🌿 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒐:
Azelaic Acid has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps prevent breakouts, reduce redness (post inflammatory erythema), and reduce the appearence of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Azelaic Acid also combines well with other products.

🌿 𝑴𝒚 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆:
I used up a whole tube, from April 21 (1st &quot;before&quot; pic) to May 17 (2nd &quot;now&quot; pic). I used this every night as the last step in my skin care routine. I usually get pimples in the same area (chin, this pic) during the use of this cream i got 4 pimples&#47;inflammatory acne in that area and they all healed quickly and nicely. Usually it takes them about a month (each) to go away but I noticed they were going away quicker&#47;getting less and less inflamed. 

After I was done with the cream I decided to use a higher percentage---15% azelaic acid gel. Overall great cream!

🥀 Bad Things:

🍂 During the first application it was fine, after reapplying throughout the day it made my skin dry and itchy
🍂 Not for daily use
🍂 Clung to dry spots
🍂 Irritated my acne 
🍂 &quot;Brightening&quot; effect is just a white cast. I&#39;ve used other brightening sunscreens before, but this one just left spots of white clumps :&quot;)
🍂 May not layer well with additional products you use

🌿 Good Things:

🌱 Matte finish
🌱 Soft feeling to the skin after putting it on
🌱 Good sun protection
🌱 Cooling effect when you put it on
🌱 Easy to take off with oil based cleanser (but if you use a normal&#47;non-oil based cleanser this will be hard to take off)
🌱 Milky consistency, easy to spread
