I actually had to check the bottle to make sure I was putting on sunscreen when I first applied this. It looks a lightweight lotion. It feels like a lightweight lotion. If this came in an unmarked bottle, I would say it IS a lightweight lotion. It goes on easily and then disappears. It’s actually effortless in how nicely this applies and dries down; you don’t feel like you’re wearing sunscreen. It is so moisturizing and even helped calm my sometimes sensitive skin, with its 10 types of cica. Oftentimes, sunscreen dries down on my face, leaving it feeling tight and dry. This never did that. It might honestly be THE sunscreen for me.

There is a significant amount of fragrance initially, which people with sensitivity might not be able to tolerate. Personally, I don’t mind fragrance in skincare and actually enjoy the scent this cream has. 

This cream feels luxurious and expensive. It’s thick and creamy, yet soft and delicate. It goes on heavy and absorbs beautifully, leaving my skin feeling hydrated but without any heaviness or greasiness. The hydration this provides lasts all day and night. I can’t speak to the claims about softening wrinkles or brightening skin, as I’ve only been using it about a month, but I can speak to the plumpness and amount of moisture it provides. My skin typically gets dry and flaky toward the end of the day, or when I wake up the next morning, but this helped combat that. A little of this cream goes a long way. 

This claims to be a gentle and hydrating physical exfoliant, using cellulose particles for dull, sensitive skin. While I typically enjoy chemical exfoliation because it requires absolutely zero work, I do use a physical exfoliant every once in a while. I was surprised when I first used it - it has a very slight gritty texture, but after gently rubbing it into skin, it starts to get to work. What’s left is smooth, soft skin. It’s versatile enough to use in specific areas or over the entire face. 

The size for the price. It is a bit on the expensive side, compared to the options for snail mucin that are out there. The exfoliation side to this offers was underwhelming. I’d prefer to do less work and apply a chemical exfoliant instead. 

• EXFOLIATION: I’ve been curious to try this. My skin’s been feeling a little dull so I decided to try using it as an exfoliant first. Unfortunately, I saw no visible results from this option, except my face getting red from massaging for literally 5 minutes. The product never pilled, never really dried out enough to even think about pilling. I rinsed it off and my face felt somewhat dry. HOWEVER, as I was applying the rest of my nightly routine (toner, serum, moisturizer), all I could think about was how soft my skin felt.

• HYDRATING ESSENCE: I’ve had this about a month now and have been using it nightly since. It leaves my dry skin feeling soft and hydrated. It creates a nice glow, but not the oily, too much product kind of shine. Instead, it’s a soft, healthy looking skin kind of glow. I use it after toner and before serums and it’s the perfect consistency to lock in my toner while still allowing my serums to be absorbed.

• FINAL THOUGHTS: I didn’t think I was going to like this as much as I do. I really dislike the very popular snail mucin - I don’t find it hydrating; I don’t enjoy the texture. Mixsoon’s bean essence starts out *almost* the same texture as snail mucin, but as you tap it into your skin, the texture changes to this light almost dry oil consistency and absorbs really well. I started out with the mindset that I probably wouldn’t ever repurchase this, but within a week of using it, I’ve changed my mind.

The mask itself is very thin, making it a little difficult to put on easily. 

This mask is soothing and has hydration that lasts for hours.
