I just started using tretinoin 0.05% to help with some acne and anti-aging as I’m turning 35 soon. I have been using it slowly 2x per week and it was going great! No irritation as I was buffering it. However, I switched sunscreen today (I love sampling from the Sephora Sun Safety Kit) and have been having irritation. Just a mild discomfort/slight burning all day. I was so surprised but after watching some YouTube videos….I really think it’s the chemical sunscreens! 

I’ve never been irritated by them before but now I’m steering clear and will keep with physical ones. Anyone experience more irritation from these? Also, what products do you love to use to calm the irritation phase of using tretinoin? How long did your irritation phase last?

Tretinoin & Irritation - chemical sunscreen is the culprit!

Hey all! I’ve seen a few products that are powdered spf for touch ups later in the day. I know it’s still not as effective as reapplying cream spf, but have you tried any of these? Or others?  How does it apply over makeup? 

The brush packaging doesn’t seem the best though. 

Also, I’m curious about Asian brands out there.

Powder SPF?

This is a good basic hydrating eye cream with antioxidant protection. Im 34 so I use it as a preventitive eye cream. It is a nice cream and blends in easily. Edelweiss is to help reduce lines and has antioxidants. It also has moisturizing CoQ10 and Argan oil. I chose it becuase many eye creams are too rich and give me milia on the eyes, but this one doesn’t so I’ve purchased it a few times. 

It is also a good value for 1 oz. of cream. So it lasts me many months of use (i use it 2x daily). 
It is also cruelty free and vegan. I don’t have any fine lines yet at 34 (knock on wood) and I v believe this helps!

I like that it smooths but the experience of the cream leaves a lot to be desired. It is fragrance free but has a really weird smell that lasts on the body. It also is filmy and pills. So not my favorite but it does what it claims to do.

This cream does help with KP and smoothing out skin. It has a combo of AHA, BHA, PHA to help exfoliate and smooth your body skin. It does moisturize as well.

Unfortunately it’s not for me. It sensitizes my skin and causes some irritation. It leaves a tea tree scent on my skin and I am not the biggest fan of the smell.

Inexpensive gel cleanser. I was attracted to it due to the PH of 5.5. Cleanses well.

Nothing bad to say. Just a little pricey but a little goes a long way for me.

Love this stuff and have used a few small jars! It’s a lovely texture and makes my skin glow and feel plump when I wake up.  I do see a brightening effect with this since it has Vit C. I have oily skin and still love it. I just use a thin layer as my last step at night.

I also love the glass packaging. It’s easy to recycle but I like to keep my jars for travel.
