I think the lavender and bergamot could possibly be irritating for some skin types. It didn't feel sticky to me (another reviewer said it was for them). I honestly like it for most people, I just think I prefer higher percentage vitamin c. I would absolutely consider purchasing myself though!

I love vitamin c. It in an amazing ingredient and I am always excited to try skincare products that contain any of the many forms of it. L-Ascorbic Acid in particular really makes a huge visible difference in my skin tone, texture and clarity. It's a great ingredient to help with pigmentation, possibly helps protect against sun damage, usually safe for most skin types and may help prevent early visible signs of aging. It is the version of vitamin c that has been studied the most and shows promise for just being an amazing skin helper.

I recently joined Picky and decided to apply for this campaign because I have been interested in trying this product for a while now! I am an esthetician with oily, acne-prone and rosacea-prone skin.

I have tried a ton of vitamin c serums and I will continue to try them. My face loves them. I was excited to see how this one fared.

I really like it!

The Pure VC Mellight Ampoule is an Ascorbic Acid based vitamin c ampoule (I use ampoules like I would a serum). It comes in a tinted glass bottle with the ascorbic acid powder seperate from the liquid formula (to prevent oxidation). You push on the lid and shake the bottle to mix the two, then use the dropper top to dispense. I keep it refrigerated to preserve it as heat can also damage the ascorbic acid. One ampoule has lasted about two weeks, it arrived in a set of four.

It has a slight herbal scent that doesn't irritate my skin. I believe the ascorbic acid percentage is 10% which might work better than higher percentages for sensitive or reactive skin! I have had no reactions from this, it actually seems to calm my skin. I do notice similar effects after using this compared to using other vitamin c serums, namely brighter and more even-toned skin. I don't have a ton of issues with pigmentation (probably because I use vitamin c products daily) so I can't comment on that specifically but I do love the glow this provides. It seems to add a bit of moisture too which will be great for when my skin becomes a bit dehydrated this coming autumn. 

There is a very slight whitecast on my skin (very pale) which means unfortunately it probably won't work well on it's own for deeper skintones.

The next sunscreen I am trying in my search for a new favorite is the Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun+ SPF 50 PA ++++.

I've used about half of the tube and am really loving it so far.

My skin is normal-to-oily and acne-prone with rosacea and is easily reactive. I do chemical peels, use adapalene, microneedle my face and can usually keep my skin balanced. I am an esthetician and know the importance of using sunscreen daily. Not just for anti-aging benefits, but also to prevent skin cancer! I usually opt for mineral filters simply because they tend to keep my skin matte and don't irritate my eyes. I have used a few chemical filter-based sunscreens with no issue but they don't keep my skin as matte as I'd like. When the weather is cold and dry I can definitely use more moisturizing sunscreens I just prefer matte ones in hot and humid weather.

This is an awesome mineral filter-based sunscreen that keeps my skin calm and matte. There is sadly a very slight whitecast (I am super fair), so that is the one downside. This will probably not work for deeper skintones.

It utilizes Zinc Oxide as the UV filter and contains hyaluronic acid, centella, pine and other calming extracts.

I sent a tube of this to my bff and she said she felt like it was causing breakouts for her, so as with all new skincare I recommend doing a patch test first to see if a product will cause an adverse reaction. I have not experienced breakouts from it. Every skin is different!

This has definitely been a welcome change from trying the awful Etude House mineral sun cream. The texture is that of a medium weight cream that dries down matte and comfortable on my skin. No scent. It doesn't feel drying but I am curious to see how my skin reacts to it in the colder months.

Once this bottle in finished I have another one from Etude House to try (Sunprise Mild Airy I think). If that one doesn't impress me then I will probably reorder this.

If your skin is fair/ pale and oily I highly recommend this one!

A sunscreen with probably one of the worst textures I've tried from a Korean brand - Etude House Soon Jung x Director's Mineral Filter Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++.

This is a physical, inorganic sunscreen that was released fairly recently in colaboration with Director Pi.

I only know Director Pi from her youtube video channel. She was a Korean beauty editor and has hosted beauty related tv shows like Get It Beauty (WHICH I LOVE AND WISH I COULD FIND NEWER EPISODES WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES 😭). There was a sunscreen "scandal" in Korea that involved false testing of sunscreen SPF values and she was apparently outspoken about it. This is a sunscreen that she worked to develop with the brand Etude House. The "tested" on the bottle means that it was tested and proven to be SPF 50 and PA++++.

Since my favorite sunscreen from Make Prem was reformulated (right around the time the sunscreen testing/ labeling issue happened) I have been trying to find a mineral filter based one that I love. This was cheap on Jolse so I figured I'd give it a try.

Thankfully the bottle is almost empty because I really dislike it.

I like mineral-based sun filters because they don't irritate my rosacea and help to keep my skin matte throughout the day.

This is thick, greasy, makes my face look like a glazed donut and feels SO heavy. It's almost everything I hate about American mineral sunscreens. There is no fragrance which is nice for sensitive skin but I've found that even this can sting my skin a bit if I use it after using a chemical peel the evening before. I am on a mission to empty products and not hoard and waste them so I am forcing myself to finish this but I will absolutely not repurchase.

The only positive thing is there is very very minimal, if any, white cast after application. Keep in mind that I am very fair, and this takes a lot of blending to get it to disappear on my skin. Like so much blending. It tugs the skin because of how hard it is to blend. No thanks.

If your skin is super dry and doesn't mind a ton of aggressive blending then I could see this working out for you.

The only possibly good thing about this sunscreen is that it leaves minimal white cast on my skin, but I am very very fair.

The reformulated version is just really not comparable to the old formula. I'm so sad.

I ordered the new, reformulated version of my favorite sunscreen even though I know the reviews of the new formula are not favorable.

I refused to believe it because I miss the old formula so much.

The old formula is the bottle on the right. It was reformulated last year during the sunscreen testing issue in Korea. My bottle is almost completely empty. I figured I would just use the new formula on my arms and hands if it doesn't work on my face, and that is what sadly ended up happening.

The old formula was strictly mineral filters, which is usually what I use for my facial sunscreen because chemical filters make my eyes burn and irritate my rosacea. The new formula uses Titanium Dioxide, Tinogard TL (absorbs UV), Uvinul T 150 (absorbs UVB), Uvinul A Plus (absorbs UVA) and Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone as the UV protection. I tried it on my face and it did make my eyes a bit watery but surprisingly didn't irritate my skin. It still feels lightweight and doesn't leave a whitecast on me. The previous version felt even lighter though.

The new formula doesn't have as strong of a scent to it. The finish feels matte but looks super shiny/ shimmery on my skin. The old version was matte and kept my face shine-free all day. I'm so sad.

New version works great on my arms and hands, so I will use it up.
I miss the old formula!!! It also sucks that we lost 1.69 fl. oz. in the new bottle.

If you need a lightweight body sunscreen this is a great choice for that. I don't recommend it for the face - especially if you have oily skin.

It's HIGHLY fragranced and could be super irritating to sensitive eyes.

A few weeks ago I received the @diorbeauty Super Potent Eye Serum from Influenster (for free, in exchange for three website reviews but not obligated to post on instagram).

I wanted to post about it here because I think it's important for people to understand that luxury fashion brands have historically been known to churn out very basic formulated skincare products and put an insane price tag on them. They rely on people recognizing their name and hope that their reputation in fashion carries over to their skincare, causing people to lust after and buy their products. I used to have a minor internal rage when clients would tell me they only use Chanel skincare and want to know why their skin is in bad shape.

I'd say within the past five to seven years most major luxury brands have stepped up their formulas and really started to adjust to the growing demand for effective products. I used to like Chanel makeup and I feel like makeup has been a different story. Some of the major fashion houses have put effort into making better skincare products. It's great (although they're still overpriced).

But why do so many of them continue to include super offensive, irritating and overpowering fragrance in their skincare? Especially an EYE cream/ treatment, which in my educated opinion should never have fragrance.

This eye treatment doesn't irritate my eyes, which shocked me as the fragrance is incredibly strong.  So strong that I'm pretty nervous to regularly use it.

It's a thin and serum-like formula with a jasmine heavy scent. It feels hydrating and pleasant on the skin. No sticky or tacky feeling. It contains niacinamide, adenosine and ascorbyl glucoside (vitamin c). It has potential but I'll never be able to tell because I don't want to use it around my eyes.
The applicator is so nice and cooling too, great for a bit of lymph drainage massage.

But i'll be using it up on my feet.
