Ok, so I have never done a discussion on Picky but I had to give a shoutout after waking up this morning…

Last week I went to Disneyland with my hubby and I promised I would not do any of my skincare hobby stuff (he refers to as work) during the vacation. I just happen to check my email the first night while we were waiting for our dinner table. And there is a Picky Giveaway Winner email! I had to profusely apologize to my husband and claim the win! 

Couple days later we come home and I have a miserable cold. Still have it! As I go to bed last night I get another Picky Giveaway Winner email!

I’m trying to find out if Glow Recipes Cleansing Balm is good for dry skin? I also exfoliate frequently so I’m concerned about the exfoliating aspect. What are your thoughts?

Some might find the cucumber scent over powering.

This is an amazing gentle gel cleanser! I tend to use a lot of active serums in my skincare routine so my skin can get a little dry. This leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. It has a very pleasant light cucumber scent that makes you feel like your at a spa. It lathers up nicely in your hands but isn’t to foamy. I had some difficulty getting it to lather while using my PMD Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device though. I love the pump packaging, it gives the perfect amount with just one pump. PRO TIP: I buy the jumbo pump bottle and I bought this smaller travel size pump on Amazon (2 pack for $5). That way I can leave one in the shower and one at my sink.

The scent does not linger on your body for bery long

This moisturizing shower cream gel smells very strong of the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. In case you haven’t smelled that, it smells like a tropical rum drink you would get on vacation. But not strong of coconut, more of a warm caramel&#47;vanilla scent. I love the smell of this line and it filled my shower with the scent. However the scent did not stick to my body. 

This shower cream gel has a very luxurious consistency. It only generates a light lather. 

I have very dry skin that is also acne prone (including my body). I found this shower cream gel moderately moisturizing. If I was using this at night I would most likely still apply a lotion before bed. But if I used this in the morning I feel like I would be sufficiently moisturized for most of the day. 

I would definitely purchase this product, but as I am prone to body acne I would have to use this every other day. I would recommend to anyone who loves the scent of a tropical vacation! Or who is already a fan of this line!

The product only lasted 3 weeks when tou use it in the morning and evening.

I purchased this serum from Sephora originally and was also gifted a bottle from First Aid Beauty. 

First off, this serum is good for all skin types! This serum has no scent at all. When you initially take the serum out of the dropper, it looks like it is very thick. (Also because of the consistency, I found it difficult to use the dropper.) But when you go to apply it, it thins out instantly. It absorbs very well and leaves your skin feeling smooth, no tacky or sticky feeling. This serum also felt like it gave my skin a little boost of hydration. I did love the feeling of applying this serum. It felt very luxurious. 

That being said I was using this product morning and night and the bottle only lasted me three weeks. Since I was only able to use it for that short amount of time I did not see any improvements in my dark spots.

✨Licorice Root - Improves uneven skin tone, soothes skin
✨Golden Kiwifruit - Contains antioxidants to protect skin from free radicals. Also contains Vitamin C
I will continue using since I was gifted another bottle from First Aid Beauty but I will not repurchase because the bottle only lasted me three weeks.

I would not repurchase only because the ingredients are written in a foreign language.

I received this as a free sample with Make P:Rem Uv Defense Me Blue Ray Sun Fluid Spf 50 Pa 200Ml 676Floz &#47;Made In Korea.I liked the packaging, it has a similar dispensing top to an essence so it doesn’t allow a lot to come out all at once. However on the packaging most of it is written in a foreign language. 

What was written in English was that this was made with fermented botanicals. To my knowledge fermented ingredients are a much better for your skin because they break down the molecules to a smaller size so they are absorbed more easily. 

This cleansing oil had a very thin consistency and was not easy to emulsify. That being said it did remove a full face of makeup and sunscreen (not waterproof makeup). I think this cleansing oil would be good for all skin types because it is so light, unless you are sensitive to fragrance. 

It costs roughly $30 for 5.1oz which is close to the average price for a cleansing oil.

It does leave a light white cast so I don’t think this would work very well with darker skin tones.

So I am on the journey to find my perfect sunscreen. I gave MAKE P:REM a shot but sadly it wasn’t for me. 

It has a very light “sunscreen” scent that goes away as soon as it is absorbed. When it dries down it has a beautiful matte finish which I loved. But because it dries SO matte it left my skin feeling very tight and dehydrated by the end of the day. I even tried applying it on top of the 3 different moisturizers and it was just to drying.

I would only recommend this for people with lighter skin tones and oily skin.
