For context: I got prescribed treclin (1% clindamyclin + 0.025% tretinoin) by my dermatologist which I have been using every 3rd day over my toner and moisturiser. (I use the sandwich method) I’ve noticed my skin getting dry and flakey maybe some redness but that goes away after a bit. 

I bought the cerave lotion because I heard it’s good for barrier repair and it’s gentle. I thought it would be perfect for my super dry and sensitive skin but now whenever I put it on my skin BURNS!! It stings so much!!! I used this moisturiser before I started treclin and it didn’t burn at all. I thought this moisturiser was supposed to be good for dry, sensitive skin. It just hurts to use. It’s only when I put the cerave lotion on, when I put my dear klairs supple preparation toner on or my other skincare products I’m totally fine. Not even a sting. I’m a little shocked to say the least. Cerave gets so much hype.

What should I do? should I stop using cerave lotion? What should I use instead? Has anyone else had this problem before??

Cerave burns my skin!!

I’m currently using the ordinary’ granactive 2% emulsion retinoid. I’ve been using it for the past 11 months and it’s really helped my skin. Albeit took a very long time for it to reach my current skin condition. (I still get pimples and I have a lot of post inflammatory erythema.)
I want to speed up the process and introduce the ordinary’s rosehip oil. I’ve heard many wonderful things about the product and I’m itching to try it out. However, I am aware that it’s pro-vitamin a. I do know that you cannot use two retinoid products together as it may cause irritation. But would you consider rosehip oil a retinoid product? Would it be safe to use both of these products? Would I benefit from adding rosehip oil into my routine?

Do you guys have any recommendations of spf’s that I can apply over makeup? I’ve been reapplying with my spf and a beautyblender but it always ruins my makeup. Is there anything I can use that wouldn’t ruin my makeup and give me sun protection?

Hii I know spf is the most important part of your routine so I really want an spf that I’ll enjoy and want to reapply. That being said I’m not a fan of the creamy texture that most spfs have. My previous spf was la Roche posay. I really loved the texture and consistency but I can’t really afford it as a broke uni student lol. I’ve been looking on yesstyle but there are so many to choose from. I’m a bit lost :(

I’ve been a bit busy lately so I haven’t been on picky in a while but when I have I noticed a whole new bunch of giveaways (yaaay). However, when I try and enter it tells me to put my address in. Which is ok I assume it’s going to make entering giveaways much easier & my address will be private (hopefully 😳). That being said it won’t allow me to fully add my address? I can input most of it but it only gives me a number option for zip code. But my zip code has letters in it 😭 pls help I can’t enter any giveaways

My only issue is that it’s not exactly stated where this goes in a skincare routine. I was a bit confused as I paired it with a very lightweight essence. Also the bottle is glass and I’m terrified I’m going to smash it. I’m not rough with my skincare but accidents happen and I live with a 15 month old who likes to make my stuff go missing.

This solutions main ingredients are blueberry extract (antioxidant), 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid (antioxidant), raspberry extract (antioxidant), lactic acid (exfoliating), glycolic acid (exfoliating), panthenol (soothing) and allantoin (soothing). I was pretty surprised to see blueberry extract above water on the ingredients list as usually water is always the main solvent in skincare products. This just means that there is a higher percentage of blueberry extract in this solution than water. Which personally, I’m quite happy for. The ingredients list makes up of many antioxidants and soothing properties along with some gentle exfoliates. So the name was pretty on point. 
Due to how gentle it is I assume people with sensitive skin would love this. It’s brightening, soothing, exfoliating and encouraging skin cell turn over. It’s a very well rounded product. 
I used this 3 times a week and it never disrupted my skin barrier, it didn’t sting nor pill. I layered it with other soothing serums and it was a perfect first step prep for my skin. 
It has a very lightweight and water texture that isn’t sticky. However, if I applied more than one layer it did get sticky so the 7 layer toner step is out of the question. 
As I mentioned before this solution is very gentle and I was worried that my resilient skin wouldn’t see any difference (this has happened before with another exfoliating toner). That being said I have noticed my skin looking brighter. I’m not sure whether it’s the glycolic acid or the antioxidants but it’s working. I haven’t seen a reduction in my hyperpigmentation though, but I have only been using it for 2 weeks.

You NEED to apply it on damp skin. When I first used it, during my medicated retinoid period, I applied it onto my sensitive and dry skin. It made my skin sting and didn’t help much for my dry/flakey skin. Once I started applying onto damp skin thats when I noticed a difference

It repaired my skin barrier. It is lightweight and thin. Once it’s on you cannot feel it. I like to wear it during the daytime so I do not look greasy.

However, this is a double edged sword as I feel like the pump is allowing air into the product and decreasing the life expectancy of my spf 😭. It does come with a little lid for the pump but sometimes I forget to put the lid back on since it’s removable. Another thing I’m not so fond about it how it feels greasy at the end of the day. I have normal skin type so I can’t imagine how this will be for people with oily skin. I wore it underneath makeup and at first I looked beautifully dewy. By the end of the day I looked as if I washed my face with oil :(. The biggest disappointment of this spf is how it stings my eyes!! It’s such a disappointment since I love the consistency and texture so much. I can get past the oiliness since you only really notice it after the end of the day but the eye sting is just too much. I can’t have a spf causing me to constantly cry because I already attend university for that. 

This sunscreen has to be one of the best feeling sunscreen that I’ve tried. The texture is a soft gel that bursts into water as soon as it touches your face. Due to the thin watery consistency it doesn’t leave a white cast even when blending it in. Initially, it comes out as a pale yellowish beige colour but as soon as it is touched it becomes clear. It spreads very easily which helps with even coverage. There is no scent which I am very glad for. My skin doesn’t hate fragrance but I have a very strong sense of smell. My nose can pick up scents from far away so if I have a skincare product with fragrance my nose will be suffering lol. I love how much product you get and the pump packaging as it makes application easier and faster. Really helpful for body application.

Overall, pleasantly surprised by this product. My only issue would be after application it does feel a little sticky.

If I’m being completely honest I didn’t really have high expectations for this product. The reason was because I thought “What makes this different from all the other hyaluronic acid serums on the market?” 
Let’s look at the claims: Inner moisture serum provide moisture to skin with low-molecular hyaluronic acid and 5D multi-hyaluronic acid compound and soothes skin with D-panthenol. 
The thing that struck me as unique was the ‘5D multi-Hyaluronic acid’ I think this refers to the ingredients list which has: 
* Sodium hyaluronate
* Hydrolysed Hyaluronic acid 
* Sodium acetylated Hyaluronate 
* Sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer 
* Hydrolysed sodium hyaluronate 
Their claim of 5 Hyaluronic acids with different molecular structures was proven correct by their inci list. Moving on to the other claim ‘soothe skin with D-panthenol’ made me check the inci list initially. The serum does contain panthenol. Along with allantoin, madecassoside, ceramide NP, beta-glucan & cholesterol. This surprised me as usual the Hyaluronic Acid serums only have maximum 3 forms of Hyaluronic acid and that’s it. No soothing ingredients or ingredients that’ll heal the skin barrier. 

My own experience:
First of my skin type is normal to dry/acne-prone. I wasn’t expecting any major differences in my skin but I expected it to add a boost of hydration to my skin. First impressions was that the texture is pretty viscous. It was a thick blue serum that glides across the skin. Despite it being so thick it absorbed quickly into my skin. I used it everyday, topped with moisturiser and a thick occlusive. I always use my humidifier during the night as well. So when I tell you I woke up with the plumpest softest skin I was shocked! I’ve always had a crease on my forehead (which tbf I wasn’t really bothered about) after using the serum for a couple of weeks I noticed it disappeared. Now I’m 21 so wrinkles aren’t exactly an issue I’m concerned about right now but if it was I would 100% use this product. I think if you have dry/dehydrated prone skin and your concern is wrinkles I think this serum would be a good addition to your routine. I wouldn’t use it alone though, definitely pair it up with a retinoid. (+sunscreen!!) 

I don’t have any major issues with this ampoule. Other than the capsules being a little rough on my skin at the beginning, I think it’s a great product.

The ampoule is a viscous clear substance with small capsules that dissolve once they are rubbed in. The ampoule contains centella asiatica, niacinamide, tranexamic acid and 3-O-Ethyl-L-Ascorbic Acid. These ingredients would help with hyperpigmentation and dark spots. I use this ampoule in the AM so I can get the antioxidants benefit. My initial thoughts was that the capsules were a little rough on the skin but after they dissolved I noticed it wasn’t an issue. I was a bit worried that it’ll irritate my active acne but like I said, once the capsules dissolved it wasn’t an issue. The serum left a sticky layer on my skin which would be good for makeup. Personally, I don’t have an issue with it. It’s a nice hydrating formula which is pleasant in the morning. I haven’t been using it for long but I’ve noticed my post inflammatory erythema has reduced in redness.
