Please don’t judge 🙈 

I have opened 8 sunscreens and 1 just arrived recently and I’m itching to open it too to try the texture on my face! 

But I think for sunscreen, I don’t feel the same ‘pressure’ compared to opening another new moisturiser (or any other products for that matters) that I have already a few opened, because I need to find the best sunscreen for my face since a lot of them is gonna be hit or miss..

And in my case always a miss… something wrong about the formulation, it’s too sticky, it’s too greasy, it’s the scent (oh my gosh!), I look like a porcelain doll (the white cast 🙄 at least the real porcelain doll look cute, me naaah), it made my skin too dry…etc etc…that’s why I’m opening them up as soon as they arrived at my doorstep (this is not excuses 🙈🙈🙈).

So, here are what I have opened right now~ How about you?

I remembered my first toner ever which I bought in my late 20’s (I know a little bit late in the game) was from the brand SKII. They’re a luxurious brand so I only bought it that one time, since my pay wasn’t enough to commit every month, lol..

Now, I have more than one toner open (don’t ask how many 🙈) and currently my favourite is from Manyo Factory, oh gosh! My skin just drink this stuff like there’s no tomorrow. I’ll layers this 2-3 times and I love how it’s just disappear, gone and leaves a supple skin. 

What’s your first toner that you ever bought or gifted to you? And is it still your favourite now?

How many moisturiser you have on your vanity?

I just got my first dose of Covid-19 vaccine yesterday.. and this morning I woke up with swelling face, especially on my eyes and nose area. I do have existing skin rashes/ inflammation that’s healing, they’re a bit red today and a little bit itchy but before this, they’re sometimes itchy too, so I’ll just monitor them first.

I’ll see today if the swelling get worst or if I got new skin rashes, I’ll go to the hospital. Right now, it is still tolerable, the swelling area doesn’t feel itchy. I do have eczema and I just pray it won’t trigger the eczema to appear on other parts of my body. 


How about you? Any other effects?


~ By the way, I’m not posting this discussion to scared you or to change anyone decision on the vaccine. Whatever your decision on getting vaccinated or not, it’s up to you. I just want to know especially my fellow eczema friends if got the same effect after vaccinated or maybe it’s just me.~

Vaccinated and My Skin Reaction!

Hi guys! I’m having a few inflammation spots on my skin right now 😫. 

It was all started when I used the Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner (silly me thinking I’m not going to break out from it, so no patch test). I even did a toner mask with it and put it on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. I woke up the next morning with skin rashes/ tiny bumps on my face and the place where I put the cotton pads especially on my cheeks and forehead is inflamed! 

I don’t know if I was allergic to the aloe in it or my skin just can’t tolerate the salicylic acid.

But, fast forward to now, I want to find cleanser and toner that is mild for sensitive skin and inflamed skin, the one that doesn’t give you tingling or stinging sensation, I would appreciate if anyone can share their experience.

Right now I’m using the Hada Labo Foaming Face  Wash (sometimes give a little tingling sensation) and Etude Soon Jung Whip Cleanser (a bit drying for my skin) as per tagged.

For toner, I’m just starting to try Etude Soon Jung Centella Relief Toner. I’m waiting for another toner that I just ordered which is the Beplain toner.

❝ Big pump bottle, sleek design and bubble shampoo? This one scored high in the convenient department. The foam is dense but soft, it feels like putting clouds on your hair. However, washing hair with it was not an enjoyable experience as it clumps my hair and it was hard to massage my scalp, hair feels “heavy”, dry and easily tangled as I have damaged and dry hair for a start. On more positive notes, it does control oil production on my scalp, no irritation and I can wash my hair every 3 days and still no itchy scalp (usually I must wash my hair every other day to prevent itchy scalp).

I have eczema and the occurence of it getting trigger on my face anytime is normal and a lifetime commitment. So, what I want is to find toner that is mild enough to be used when this happen. 

I have bought a few toners that claimed it’s mild and safe to use everyday and my expectation goes down the drain after just using it the first time. 

Someone here in Picky recommended this toner and after I’ve checked the ingredients, there was no ‘red flag’ with sensitive skin and decided to try it.

💚 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦
• A bottle of product that has a function of toner + ampoule which contains high concentration of Bifida Biome which shields the skin from external agressors.

• I use this both in my AM and PM routine daily, after I do my cleansing. 

• I love layering this one. First, I’ll use a cotton pad, soak it and gently wipe my face. I considered toner as an extension of cleansing, I do this to every toner. Then, I’ll pour generously into my palms, press it on my face and let my skin absorbs it, I’ll do this 2-3 layers.

✍🏼 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧&#47; 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚
• I got a limited set that come with 400ml + 100ml bottle, the set price was discounted to RM97+ (USD23+).

✍🏼 𝙏𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚&#47; 𝙎𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩
• This is a clear watery liquid but it has some consistency, slightly thicker than water and from what I read regarding the product, it’s made to have an ampoule texture, that’s why I love using it because I can feel the ‘ampoule-viscosity’ inside it.

• Scent wise - I didn’t detect any scent.

✍🏼 𝘽𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚&#47; 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝
• It’s easy to apply and my skin just drinks it easily even with 2-3 layers. No stickiness or greasy feeling.

✍🏼 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩
• To know if toner did something to your skin, try leaving your face more than 10 minutes right after you’ve finished your cleansing steps. I accidentally did it once, right after I went out from the bathroom, my kids asked me to do something ‘mummy duty’, then after God knows for how long, suddenly I realised my face so dry + tight.. I look in the mirror and saw that my face was not wet anymore and I’m someone who don’t even practice towel dry my face!~

• I’d let my bare face too long without protection! I quickly put this toner 2-3 layers and I waited for 3-5 minutes before continuing to the next step. Look in the mirror again, I can see my skin looks supple and hydrated, no more dry and tight feeling. That’s when I know this definitely do something for my skin apart from preparing my skin for the next step.

• But most importantly, it doesn’t sting! No other sensation and it didn’t make the inflamed skin becomes more red!~ a MAJOR PLUS POINT, yay!

💚 𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗨𝗘
This product use PHA instead of AHA or BHA, which the latter, my skin can’t tolerate it especially in high percentage, I know this from a bad experience.

Finally, I found the one toner that safe to be used everyday despite what my skin conditions are. So glad that I made this purchase!~

 A very light gel cream texture that get absorbs easily, has a faint fresh scent. It dries down to matte finish, being a dry skin and leaning towards dewy-nourishing moisturizer, surprisingly I quite like the finish. It feels weightless on the skin. 

I enjoy using this for day time moisturizer, suits for our hot weather here, works great with the essence. If you’re looking for a light gel texture that doesn’t feels anything on your skin, this is it.

EDIT: after empting the jar, I realized I freaking love it! It didn’t clogged my pores, I can say it also managed my sebum production as there is no new acne on my forehead, because I’m dealing with new acne like every two weeks new one will pop up even before the previous one dried down. This definitely a HG moisturizer. Hence I changed my rating from 4 to 5.

It’s light watery essence, almost feels like a toner to me, I didn’t notice any scent. The finish feels silky with a bit slip to it, but dries down to dry-matte, I have dry skin but my skin didn’t look dry-dry, if that makes sense. All in all, it’s such a nice essence and easy to incorporate in any routine, definitely need more time to see the full effect.

EDIT: after more than half using it, I realized this essence do help to control my sebum production and it works really well with the moisturizer. Hence I changed my rating from 4 to 5.

It mildly soften my hair, so don’t expect it to be your typical hair conditioner type of treatment that usually have strong silky smooth hair power.

❝This one has the same dense bubble, I usually use 6-8 pumps as I have longer hair. It is easier to work with this compared with the shampoo, it did help smoothen my hair to some extend and more manageable afterward. I also like that there is no slimy/ greasy texture to deal with (my back doesn’t feel greasy and so are the bathroom floor lol). Both has mild scent, citrusy? I feel that these two steps routine more suitable for normal/ oily scalp with non-damaged hair type. But I do like this routine because it makes my scalp less itchy and I have the lazy-day-option to wash my hair every 3 days. This hair care routine is compulsory to apply hair oil afterwards, that’s the one requirement for me to continue using these two.
