So I just read this article about scalp care and it said that one way to help your scalp when you have a lot of dandruff or even when it’s just dry producing too much oil is to exfoliate your scalp!

I have never heard of scalp exfoliating before, and the idea of it kinda confuses me because as someone with thick hair I’m not even sure how one goes about exfoliating their scalp

Anyways I would just like to hear some thoughts on the topic and if anyone so happens to know of a product that could exfoliate the scalp please tag it because I do have very dry skin on my scalp and I am very intrigued to try this out

I keep seeing “oil cleansing” videos going around on my social media. While oil cleansing seems pretty self explanatory, I’m still new to the concept and just wanting to learn more about it as it’s all fresh to me

What is the purpose of oil cleansing?
What product should you use to oil cleanse?
How often should/can you oil cleanse? 
What are the best steps to go about oil cleansing?
What are the benefits (and negatives) of oil cleansing?

Just looking to learn so any information is helpful :)

Oil Cleansing

So for a basis of what I’m trying to build a routine out of I have 

1. cleanser
2. toner
3. serum
4. moisturizer
5. sun care

So what I was wondering is how does your routine compare morning to night, would you add or take away anything. And yeah just give me any advice you have for a skincare wannabe enthusiast who’s learning what works for her still :)

Morning vs Night Routine

I’ve been having a very hard week. A lot has happened for me, nothing traumatic like losing a loved one. But it’s been a lot and it’s been taking a mental toll 

I’m pushing through, keeping up with my skincare routine and trying to get into the Christmas spirit but I was wondering if anyone had any self care ideas that they do to help boost their mood 

Whether it’s a product like a face mask or something to do like taking a bubble bath, I’m open to all products, ideas + suggestions 

Self care is important and right now I’m trying my best to do a step for it no matter how little it is

Skincare when you’re feeling down

So I’ve noticed a lot of people who have already won the early bird ampoule have been asking if they can still win the toner

I myself am wondering the same thing too but I’m also just curious what the difference between the 2 are besides the bottle/dropper

Difference between Skin 1004 Ampoule vs Toner

I only got the chance to try this product a couple times before writing my review. So I don’t feel like I can go into full depth like I normally do when it comes to reviews.

That said I didn’t notice any real changes to my skin and I can’t think of any real complaints 

No changes are still good in comparison to my skin worsening in some way

So overall nothing bad to say!

The 1st thing I noticed about this serum was its lid. The lid is fitted to the dispensing head, minimal & was easy to take off/put on. I know lids aren’t a normal person’s selling point when it comes to products but I love that there wasn’t excess plastic while still doing its job! Another positive was it wasn’t a dropper like many serums are! The serum comes out easily & I didn’t have to worry about finding that sweet spot for how much product I need at a time! (it always gives the perfect amount!)

The serum itself is everything you look for in a serum
✨Soft gel consistency
✨Lightweight
✨No scent
✨No irritation
✨Helps with -> Anti-Aging, Soothing, Brightening, Pore Care, Hyper-Pigmentation
✨Great Ingredients such as Allantoin, Centella Asiatica Extract & Niacinamide
✨Minimal amount needed - 2 drop covers my face & neck where as other serums I’ve used need 4-5 drops for full coverage
✨Dries quickly
✨Long lasting - after wearing for hours my face didn’t feel dried out or greasy!

Overall this serum has given me a newfound love for the brand Swida. I love the fact that they’re eco conscious (and even post so in their product designs as the inside of the product box has instructions on how to clean out the serum once it’s used up) and that they’re cruelty free. But I also love that they’re vegan while not using ingredients that can be allergens for many people. I myself miss out on trying countless vegan foods and skincare products because of my allergy, so I am very thankful I got the chance to try out this wonderful product!

I love this product but it could be argued that it’s not in the most hygienic container since you have to put your fingers in it everytime to use it rather than it being in a squeeze bottle. But I am the only one that uses it, it’s not a shared product in my household but it is something to think about!

My go-to body exfoliant! I find when I feel like i have a lot of dead skin on my body this works amazing &amp; you definitely don’t need to use a lot. And I would say I’m a “curvy” girl, like I’m not skinny but I bought it a while ago and just finished my first container a couple days ago. It smells good too and it’s easy to apply and rub onto my skin. I also would say I use it once every 2 weeks.

I didn’t notice a major change in my skin (I only used the products a couple times in comparison to past reviews using for 1-2 weeks straight) but I would still say they’re both great products!

My 1st thought to opening the cream was that it reminded me of the TIAM Snail & Azulene Sleeping Mask (a mask I love!) with the only differences being that this Swida cream wasn’t a sticky consistency, had no strong smell & was vegan!

This cream is a watery-gel consistency, so it will be especially great to wear in warmer weather

Like the Root of the Glow Serum, it shares many great qualities such as
🍇Gentle & not irritating
🍇Lightweight
🍇No strong scent! It smells like any light cream & isn’t overpowering
🍇Helps with -> Anti-Aging & Soothing
🍇Great Ingredients such as Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Skin Extract, Ceramides & Peptides
🍇Minimal amount needed - recommended to use a dime size amount, I used a bit more than that but it was still a smaller amount used compared to other creams I’ve tried
🍇Dries quickly
🍇Long lasting

As someone who is allergic to many popular ingredients used in vegan food+skincare, I always love coming across vegan products I can actually use!

Nothing was bad about it! I think the only important think to note is if you use more than 2-3 drops of this like it’s recommended/instructed then your skin can break out as this is concentrated and for me my skin broke out by getting red

For Reference I got to try out this Hyaluronic Acid through a Picky giveaway that also gave me The Potion’s Jojoba Serum and Peptide Ampoule in what they call their “Deep Hydration Trio” so with packaging I’ll talk about how I received all 3 and I always want to talk about using them all together

✨The Packaging

The 3 ampoules were each in their own box & all together in one sleeve. If you know from past reviews I love being able to keep things together & always tend to keep my product in its box. Each ampoule looks different to the other the Hyaluronic Acid is clear, the Jojoba Oil is yellow & the Peptide is clear with a faint yellow tinge

Each is directed to use 2-3 drops at a time, I found using all at once giving each ampoule 3 drops onto my skin that I did not feel or look as oily as I expected to be. They easily combine together though their textures’ vary. They massage nicely into skin and left me feeling extremely hydrated throughout the day

1st Thoughts: Oily but thick. Almost a gooey texture without being sticky or leaving residue feeling. Scentless

Application: Not easiest to spread on skin without toner or other serums. Easier to spread with. When applied to face it would drip down fast but not to an extent of it sliding off face. I found the ampoule would sometimes distribute different sizes of the serum so some drops were bigger than others

💛Red patches on my skin tend to disappear unless I used too much. Skin felt smoother after using and looks better after applying

✨Benefits of using Hyaluronic Acid (my own research) 

It’s something that naturally occurs in our bodies. It helps our skin to keep moisture by attracting and holding onto moisture in our skin cells. It also helps our skin when it comes to healing wounds, smoothing skin texture, improving elasticity, regulate tissue repair, provide antioxidant benefits, anti aging benefits, reduces dermatitis, maximizes collagen levels, protects against UVB rays which can cause sunspots and lowering inflammation without adding excess oil to skin. Your skin will feel hydrated and plump after using

I think everyone should add this into their routines as it has many benefits for your skin & it’s never too early to add steps to your skincare that will give you many benefits in the future

Overall I enjoyed using them all together as they all have a wide variety of different benefits that I want my skin to achieve and I prefer to use them all at once vs using only one per routine. I would tend to use more when I was only using one at a time and because of that my skin would get a bit red. When I used them all at once I had no redness and my appearance was even and glowy

1st Thoughts: Similar to HA only not as thick/gooey. Fairly watery but seemed to not drip down face as quickly as others. Scentless

Application: Out of all 3 the Peptide is the easiest 1 to spread on skin without the use of a toner. 

💛Skin felt softer after each use & appearance was always brighter. With how easy it was it spread, you start to feel hydrated as you massage into skin

I think everyone should add this into their routines as it has many benefits for your skin & it’s never too early to add steps to your skincare that will give you many benefits in the future

Overall each one individually left my skin feeling softer, smoother & more hydrated/moisturized than it was prior to applying

I don’t mind using each separately but I prefer to use all 3 together as the serum step in my skincare routine. I find I like getting the benefits of all 3 at once vs using extra drops of 1 ampoule. My skin was red when I used more drops for 1 ampoule while with all 3 I didn’t experience redness

Luckily with the Peptide I did not receive redness from it as it did not need extra drops to spread on my skin. I think for this reason it’s my favourite item in the set
