In today’s post I am sharing my review on Rovectin Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion

From the word lotion a milky moisturiser comes into mind but this product is nothing like that. 

It is a lightweight multitasking toner essence which hydrates, soothes and firms the skin in just one step. 

Coming to the product details-

The formula of this product has a hydrating barrier complex to help in boosting the skin’s natural barrier. This activating treatment lotion is free from artificial fragrance, mineral oil, alcohol, essential oils, silicone, parabens and sulphates. It is vegan and cruelty free.

Ingredients-

Water, glycerin, methyl gluceth-20, pentylene glycol, butylene glycol, niacinamide, sorbitol, adenosine, caffeine, sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, panthenol, arginine, hyaluronic acid, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, centella asiatica extract, glycine soja (soybean) sprout extract, carica papaya (papaya) fruit extract, 1,2-hexanediol, sodium pca, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, hydroxyethylcellulose, trehalose, sodium polyglutamate, hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, potassium hyaluronate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, disodium EDTA.

It comes in a transparent bottle with a cap.
Texture and consistency-

The toner essence is clear and has a viscous consistency like a serum. It glides on easily on the skin and absorbs within a minute without leaving any sticky or greasy feel.

Directions of usage–

Apply a dime size of the product on damp skin after cleansing. Let it absorb for a while and then continue with your serums and moisturisers.

My experience with the product-
 the ingredient list is amazing and it contains seven different types of hyaluronic acid. I use this lotion both morning and evening on my damp skin followed by the serums and moisturiser. The ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerine, pentylene glycol and butylene glycol work as great humectants.

Niacinamide and licorice root extract helps in brightening up the skin and evens out the skin tone. As I’ve struggled with hyperpigmentation on my skin for a very very long time, having these ingredients in my skincare routine is a big YES! 🙌

Caffeine helps in depuffing the skin which is a very helpful ingredient for me as I easily look like a ball whenever I wake up in the morning 🥺. Allantoin and panthenol soothes and calms irritated skin. Papaya fruit extract helps in mild and gentle exfoliation of the skin. 

From these points it is clear that this essence lotion is definitely a keeper. A single 100 ml bottle will last for months as only a little amount of product is needed for the whole face and neck. The clean ingredient list makes it suitable for all skin types. As this lotion contains humectants a good emollient cream or moisturiser has to be applied on top to lock in the moisture.

The lotion plumps up my skin making it look fresh and hydrated. It also creates a clean canvas and prepares the skin for the next skincare steps.

My Experience with Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser:
This facial cleanser’s pH level (acid-base content) is similar to that of our skin and is formulated such that it doesn’t strip it of its natural oils and moisture. Controlled pH level in skin care products is a new fad in skin care industry and important to maintain skin’s moisture content – apparently there are several studies backing this claim.It also contains BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) which is a very popular skin exfoliant and is known to remove dead cells and help in skin rejuvenation. Cons of Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser:

It does contain alcohol and other chemicals for the sake of preservation and other cosmetic purposes.
I wish the ingredient list was shorter with less chemicals in it.

Apparently, this is Innisfree’s Best Selling Product. I have mixed feelings about this product. It’s a semi-thick liquid serum that feels sticky upon application. Though it does dry down to a smooth dewy finish and feels light and comfortable on the skin. It’s super hydrating & nourishing and I wake up with plump, supple skin whenever I use this.

if I used this serum for more than three days continuously, I tend to get tiny bumps and whiteheads. So I had to give it a break in between whilst using this product. I assume it’s because of the fragrance in it since I don’t see any acne-triggering ingredients. The price point may look expensive, but one bottle will easily last 6 months. In terms of results, it’s not a miracle product. I can tell that it’s a nice hydrator that plumps up the skin. But that is all! The overpowering fragrance is a major turn-off for me and I don’t see myself repurchasing this and also it have alcohol in it🤧

The expectations I had for this product were high considering how much I love the other BoJ sunscreen. I wasn't too thrilled by the fact that it contains alcohol and essential oils, but honestly, they turned out not too bad - my skin handled them pretty well. The texture is quite interesting, a true gel with little capsules (I think?) that spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It is quite dewy despite being rather lightweight, and it feels slightly greasy on me. I like the finish though, it leaves my skin glowy but not oily-looking. It does not sting, doesn't leave a whitecast, and doesn't pill. I am not in love, but it's good. Seems like a sunscreen for dry but resilient skin. However, considering that it's a bit more expensive, it might be my first and last bottle.L

It was my first purchase. After using a month I am writing this review, where I have a very sensitive skin and never used any kind of AHA&#47;BHA tonar before! So after using Cosrx AHA&#47;BHa tonar there was no break down or any kind of irritation. Took time to remove black heads and white heads. It’s Definitely not a magic portion but effective after long term application .  Pro-  •remove blackhead and whitehead and black patches from the skin of you use effectively ( have u use long term). • No irritating or burning for my skin (sensitive skin) •Not oily or does not make skin greasy. •No particular break out on my skin.  Cons- • Cost of the product and availability in India could be improved.   * Suggestion - Not to use regularly. I would prefer to use it in alternate days or twice in a week in my skin care routine.   Overall satisfied with the product!!! ?

✨My experience:
I like that it’s SPF50+ PA++++ so it provides adequate sun protection. Not only is it vegan and hypoallergenic, but it also works wonders on my oily skin. The matte finish is perfect for reapplication throughout the day, and it feels like nothing on the skin. It’s so lightweight and non-greasy, making it a pleasure to use. One of the things I love most about this sun stick is its long-lasting formula. I only need to apply it once or twice a day, and it lasts all day long. This is great for me, as I hate having to constantly reapply products. This Sun Stick is also packed with soothing, acne-fighting, and antioxidant ingredients. Overall, I am extremely happy with this sun stick and will definitely be buying more in the future.


I have zero complaints about the serum…it’s reasonably priced, well packaged, and provided me with some fabulous brightening results. It’s helping keep the redness in my skin at bay, and fading any marks so much quicker. It’s easy to use, and, with my schedule, can be slotted into my regular routine easily. I’m super happy with it, and will def never be without Vitamin C in my routine again!

Tiam My Signature C Source Vitamin C Serum 
Purpose
Vitamin C serums are predominantly used for brightening, helping reduce PIH and acne scars, light exfoliation, and overall evening of skin tone. Whilst my skin is already reasonably bright (as a result of my three year affair with my k-beauty routine), I frequently deal with mild PIH and red marks from small pimples. My skin tone is also quite uneven with redness, and it’s something I’m conscious of.

The packaging states:

Tiam My Signature C Source delivers a multitude of complexion benefits for beautifully healthy skin. Pure Vitamin C refine, brighten, balance, and tone skin for a radiant appearance.
Ingredients: (No changes from the original C20 product)

Water, Ascorbic Acid, Alcohol, Sodium Lactate, Butylene Glycol, Glucose, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Xanthan Gum, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate&#47;VP Copolymer, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Flower Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Glycerin, Zinc PCA, Panthenol, Niacinamide, t-Butyl Alcohol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Beta-Glucan, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lecithin, Caprylic&#47;Capric Triglyceride, Ubiquinone, Diisopropyl Adipate

So with 20% Ascorbic Acid, it contains about the highest concentration of Vitamin C you can buy, which is great! Next is alcohol. Now personally, I don’t have a problem with alcohol in certain formulas, and I’m okay with it in this, but of course it’s a personal choice. There’s also a few other ingredients I’m happy to see- sodium hyaluronate and camellia sinensis leaf extract in particular, for moisturizing and antioxidant properties.

Niacinamide is featured here, which is really quite confusing, considering its widely thought that using niacinamide and Vitamin C together could be problematic. There has been some discussion on this, and I don’t pretend to know the science behind it. Luckily we have highly knowledgeable bloggers like Stephen at kindofstephen.com to help us non-science-minded folks understand the science behind what we’re putting our faces. His article about Vitamin C and niacinamide really helped me, and I’ve decided to allow a short wait time between using the serum, and any niacinamide product (virtually all of my products contain niacinamide). I’m not too concerned about using them together, nor the small (?) amount of niacinamide in this product.

How to use:
You have to be quite particular with how you use and store Vitamin C, and I’ll admit I felt a bit nervous initially.
Vitamin C can oxidize very quickly, and should therefore be stored in a cool, dark place. I keep mine in the refrigerator, in its box. It does come in a dark glass bottle to help protect the product.
For use, I drop several drops directly onto a clean face, about 15 minutes after I’ve cleansed. I expected a slight tingling sensation, but this just seems to happen occasionally, and oddly only on my forehead- I guess my skin is more sensitive there. The tingling only lasts a couple of seconds for me. For sensitive skin, it is suggested to mix the serum with a toner. I had been using 10% Vitamin C pads beforehand, so this may have helped build my tolerance, and I’m sticking with using the serum alone.
It definitely needs mentioned that there’s no room for slacking on sunscreen application if you’re using this serum. As I already use minimum SPF factor 50 PA+++ sunscreens every damn day (and the correct recommended amount-so important), this wasn’t a concern for me, but something you need to be aware of if you don’t religiously use sun protection. I do use this in the morning despite the night time recommendation, because of my acid use at night. But I’m rarely in the sun for long on a daily basis, only for about 15 minutes during my commute.

Packaging
Fact, I love dropper serums. They’re hygienic, easy to use, and easy to control amount of product. As I mentioned earlier, the dark colored glass also helps protect the product from oxidization. 

The amount of serum provided (30ml) is reasonable, seeing as the product should be used up fairly quickly.
Texture and Scent
This scent, man, I love it. It’s a fresh and fruity, citrus orange scent, and it really hits you when you first use the product. It fades quite quickly, but that first whiff is glorious.
The texture is a thick, clear, classic serum texture and spreads smoothly and easily. However, as noted in many of the reviews I’ve seen, it does leave a distinctly sticky residue. It’s not pleasant. BUT, oddly, as soon as you layer products over the top, the stickiness completely disappears and it doesn’t affect the rest of my routine or make up application. It’s really bizarre, and there’s no heaviness at all. Used on it’s own- not the best. Used within a routine (as I always do)- no problem for me.

Performance
It has also helped fade pimple marks significantly quicker. When I break out on my forehead or on my chin, the red marks tend to linger and irritate me (you can see the red PIH on my chin in the photos above, and how it’s more even and faded in the later photos). With the serum, the marks fade so much faster. The same can be said for the pimples I experience on my chest. I break out on my chest more than anywhere else, and I’m often left with red marks where the spots have been. I’ve been testing the serum here as well as my face, and the results have been even more dramatic with fading the marks so quickly. 

In terms of exfoliating, my skin does feel slightly smoother. I don’t think Vitamin C has particularly affected my (more frequent, as of late) breakouts in terms of prevention, but rather just helped control the redness and marks from those breakouts, which is what I expected. I didn’t use my BHA or AHA for two weeks when I was testing this, and I definitely needed to reincorporate those to help with my pores and skin texture, and use them at night, whilst using the Vitamin C in the morning. Using all three together has been perfect.

In short, the Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream is a good skin repairing moisturizer. It’s particularly recommended for those dealing with a damaged skin barrier and with acne

Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream

This is another snail product from Cosrx. It’s a cream version, so someone who is not comfortable with the essence version can go for this. However, this has got a lot more ingredients that than the essence version wherein the cream have ingredients that may not be ideal for all skin types.The Cosrx AIO Cream has got a slimy, bouncy, gel-cream texture with a medium consistency. It spreads moderately well. Just spread it evenly and press and pat, instead of rubbing vigorously. It goes on a bit tacky but settles down to a smooth dewy finish. I cleanse, tone, and moisturize with this cream if I am using this product. The Snail All in One Cream is highly moisturizing, so I don’t layer on any other products with this. This snail cream plumps up the skin and makes skin soft.

In short, the Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream is a good skin repairing moisturizer. It’s particularly recommended for those dealing with a damaged skin barrier and with acne.
