Dry/Resilient

good
My skin gets irritated when I use products containing pure Vitamin C, so I’ve been trying products with Vitamin C derivatives to see if I can still get the antiaging benefits. This solution contains 20% of the stable oil-soluable form of Vitamin C, providing antioxidant benefits and provides a skin brightening effect. It also containd oil soluble Vitamin F that has emollient properties. Other ingredients jnclude Coconut Alkanes (oily liquid that gives smooth feel), jojoba oil and squalane. This is a more expensive product in the li e at about $17.80 for a 30ml glass bottle. The bottle is dark amber in color, with a dropper. It had a chemically smell and goes on like a dry oil. I thought that it absorbed quickly and I did see an improvement in tone, skin was brighter and smooth. A little goes a long way and I was able to finish it by the 12 month PAO date. I probably would not repurchase though, as I prefer other products that are not an oil formulation.... read more

I was really surprised at how well this worked for me. Although I have oily skin and thought the oil might give me trouble but this made my skin glow instead of greasy. My skin is visibly brighter after four weeks of use.... read more

I have sensitive skin and acne scars. Vit c is a good thing for acne scars so I thought I would be happy with this product, but I was disappointed. I had big pimples after using the product. So I stopped. I think that it is due to the oily structure of the product, because it doesn’t absorb rapidly.... read more

I previously used The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% to treat my Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH), but I decided to switch to this because it has a higher Vitamin C percentage. I have brown skin, so the process of removing my PIH is a long one. With that being said, compared to the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%, this made the process of eliminating my PIH faster. (I opted to use a Vitamin C derivative so I can use Niacinamide in my routine.) It also has a longer shelf life. It takes a long time for it to oxidize.... read more

Please take note that this is an oil-based product. I don't know why The Ordinary decided to make this Vitamin C derivative in this formulation. But if you're weary of using oils, take this into consideration. I have an oily-resilient skin type, but I am rather fond of using oils (dry skin = oleic acid / oily skin = linoleic acid). I use this near the end of my routine, before using moisturizer. My skin absorbs this fast, and the texture of the product is not offputting. My main concern about this product is the packaging. There is something wrong with the cap, and even if I close it tight, it pops. I have a few spills here and there. So, please be careful.... read more
