This saturated dicarboxylic acid exists as a white powder could be found in wheat, rye, and barley. Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring acid. It helps the skin to renew itself more quickly and therefore reduces pimple formation. It also help to kill the bacteria that cause acne.

Are you suffering from acne and hyperpigmentations? Have you tried Azaleic Acid? Well let me share to you my experience with my recent discovery, I'm suffering from mild to moderate acne since last year tried countless of products but acne keeps on popping every time. Glad I tried this Azaleic Acid Serum, I've been using this since December last year and I must say it became my favorite. It really did help me with my acne and hyperpigmentations, it's a miracle worker indeed, though it does take time to see the result this surely did not disappoint. I saw improvements with my acne and acne marks when I hit the one month mark, I'm using the 10% Azaleic Acid to date but I'm planning to switch to higher concentration in the next few months.
None, its really effective in both acne and hyperpigmentations. Must try in my opinion. But be sure to patch test first and start slowly.

Iβve read that The Ordinaryβs Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% is not the most cosmetically-elegant, and I think Iβve found an good alternative: the Cos De BAHA AZ Serum, featuring 10% azelaic acid, as well as niacinamide, panthenol and hyaluronic acid.
π¦Texture // πΏSmell
This is a clear, thick & viscous serum that has a bit of a moisturising oiliness to it. It smells just a teeny tiny floral, and I think anyone would be fine with the smell.
πMoisture
Despite the witch hazel extract, it is not drying at all, and is in fact hydrating/moisturising due to the aloe vera extract as the first ingredient. You may feel a slight tingling but it fades really quickly. It leaves a neutral finish that is not tacky after the 30 seconds it takes to absorb.
πEffectiveness
I thought this brand was sketchy at first, but I think this was a good supporting player in my tretinoin routine! It helped to lighten my post-acne redness quicker than when I was only on tretinoin, and possibly helped with preventing breakouts as well.
πΈRepurchase?
Yes!! Pharmacies in Singapore sell 20% Skinoren cream at S$40 for 30g. This serum cost me S$15 for 30ml. I see a clear winner here π
ππ»ββοΈRecommended for:
- All skin types, especially acne-prone and pigmented skin
- First timers to azelaic acid
π¦Packaging
It is a deep red bottle with a gold dropper cap and itβs one of those bottles that holds the dropper straight vertically downwards. (Anyone who knows the benefits of these kind of dropper bottles, please lmk π)

When it comes to PIH, i would definitely recommend azelaic acid! This contains niacinamide too! These 2 ingredients really suitable for acne prone skin, it really works wonder on my skin, i can see the difference after 3.5 months of used! Since both the ingredients work wells with other actives, i found that applying a thin film of benzoyl peroxide on stubborn/ cystic acne after this serum really helps to clear those acne faster! If nothing works on your cystic acne, you should try this method! Azelaic acid also act as a gentle exfoliant, so you have super senstive skin and cant tolerate any chemical exfoliant, you should try this serum!
This is not hydrating enough for my dry skin, so i will need to apply a hydrating serum and cream after this serum

this is my holygrail product. ive never used any azelaic acid product before & incorporating this serum into my routine is a total gamechanger.
1. it controlled my hormonal & maskne breakouts
2. lightened new acne marks over time
3. controlled rosecea redness
i apply this every morning together with a vitC serum and started seeing amazing results from 3rd week onwards...at first it wasn't noticeable, but after my period was over and i noticed there wasn't any crazy breakouts, i started suspecting it is the azelaic acid's magic touch. its been 5mths now, and the magic kept repeating itself almost every month. i do still get a pimple off and on, but they clear up much faster than before, and new pimple marks dissappear quickly whereas before, the marks would stay forever.
texture: it's a clear viscious syrupy gel that doesnt spread very easily if applied on dry face. i prefer applying on damp face as it is easier to spread, but for the first few weeks i hv to work the formula onto dry face, as it made my skin itch if i apply over damp face.
after 2-3weeks of adjustment, i could now use this serum on damp face without feeling itchy. i use 2-3 tiny droplets all over cheeks, chin and temples. i love that it doesnt feel sticky and absorb quickly if you don't overapply. and most of all, this formula doesn't irritate my sensitive skin after a short period of adjustment.
i introduced this serum to my friend, who was getting irritation from using a 20% azelaic ointment, and she was really happy that this serum gave her results without the irritation. so i'd definately recommend this to anyone who want to introduce an azelaic acid product into their routine. it is medium strength, very well formulated with soothing ingredients to minimise irritation.
nothing bad, except perhaps the syrupy texture could be slightly thinner to make it easier to spread over dry face for those who can't use this over damp face. but i am happy with this product and hv found ways to make it work.

I love everything about this serum. Itβs definitely the best Azelaic acid serum that Iβve ever tried and I love that itβs in a base of aloe. It just makes this that much more soothing and easy for the skin to take in. During the time I was using this I had better skin overall from less acne, redness, and pore size. I definitely want to repurchase this and I highly reccomend this for everyone of you that canβt handle stronger chemical exfoliants or those that want to assist their other acne fighting ingredients.
I donβt think there is anything bad about this serum that Iβve noticed.

This is among the products that made the most difference in my skin. Azelaic acid is really such an underrated ingredient!
π¦Texture: This is a clear, slightly runny serum. It has a slightly oily texture to it.
βπ»Application: I apply 4 drops on my face every AM, but it can be used both AM and PM. It spreads and sinks in easily, leaving a slightly dewy finish that is easily layerable under my later products.
π¨Performance: I found that it really helped in reducing the frequency and severity of my breakouts, on top of lightening some of my hyperpigmentation (most notably my PIE)! I knew azelaic acid was a good ingredient, but I was surprised at the sheer difference it made to my skin.
π²Price: Super affordable, at about $14/30ml. One bottle should last around 3 months at least.
πΈFragrance: No added fragrance, no discernible scent.
1 The natural extracts may be irritating for those with sensitive skin.

I've read a lot of good review about azelaic acid, so decide to try this one cuz I've been using few product from CDB, it's doesn't irritate my skin, I use it 2 times a day, as I can't use retinol due to pregnancy, this is a safe and great alternative to tackle the incoming acne/melasma/pigmentation .
Nothing, the price is affordable

I like how it dries fast when I thought it would be kinda oily since it's a serum BUT
I used this for a month but still get breakouts and doesn't really help with marks or dark spots. Oftentimes, the acne recurrs on the same spot.

My holy grail. This helped me calmed my cystic acne in 2-3 days. Doesn't leave any sticky feeling on face so it's perfect to moisturize after using this. Also helped me with my skin texture and blemishes. Would definitely recommend this for acne-prone type of skin.
Seriously, none at all!

I gave this a chance because of its price point. It is packed with Azelaic Acid and Niacinamide which are found to help fade hyperpigmentation. This is also very accessible to me. Their customer support is also very helpful.
I donβt know if itβs the EOs or the Azelaic Acid itself but this gave me tiny bumps on my forehead. I continued using this for a month and still get the same results. I was breaking out in ways I donβt usually do. There are also white thingies that form around the bottle which bothered me. This didnβt solve my acne but even gave me another problem. This just isnβt for me and Iβm still traumatized from using Azelaic Acid again.
