[Description] as per Cos de Baha's site
Salicylic Acid takes some time to absorb and act on the skin, so it does not show immediate effect. But once it's absorbed into the skin, it's more powerful! It not only solves our annoying acne problems, but it also has antibacterial effects to prevent pimples in advance.
Key Ingredients:
•4% salicylic acid
•niacinamide
•aloe
•green tea
✅no fragrance
✅no alcohol
✅no sulfates
✅no silicone
[Texture]
There is some viscosity to this formula, so its absorption rate takes a bit longer than a more watery product would. But I rub it in (sometimes this makes it go a bit white foamy), then tap it in for a few seconds. It will remain feeling a bit surface, a bit tacky, but carrying on with the rest of my products fairly soon after does not seem to affect its efficacy.
[Price]
I can typically find this around $8 USD to $10. It's surprisingly affordable for such a potent product. It may seem like a small amount at 1 fl oz, but I use one drop on my forehead and two drops on each side of my face. I have a bigass face, so you may not need as much product as I do.
[Usage]
I apply this serum after every cleanse; twice daily. My skin is oily, acneic, and most problematic on my jawline as well as underneath my jaw. I get large, very deep cystic acne that I'm certain is due to hormonal issues. My skin is also very tough to high percentages of AHAs (chemical exfoliants).
[Results]
I love, LOVE this acne treatment. I will always use this product, I will always have backups. I have never felt irritation, nor has there ever been any visible dryness nor redness.
I'm aware BHA is also an exfoliant, but for me, it's in my routine as a hormonal acne treatment. It has very significantly reduced the number of cystic pustules I used to experience, and even when I do have one form, it's gone in a matter of days. These used to be around for weeks and be painful and leave huge, dark scars. I still end up with scars from all acne I get, but they are much smaller since using this S4 Serum.
⚠️I think if you don't know your skin well enough to know how a product of this strength will react, I don't think I could safely recommend it to you. Certainly start with 1% BHA first, like the Isntree BHA toner. Then you can move onto 2%, like Paula's Choice 2% BHA exfoliators, or Isntree Chestnut BHA.
If you know your skin does well with BHA, and if you're at a true loss with what to do with hormonal acne like I was, give this a try. Give it a few weeks, more if you start slower in usage, to really let it take effect.
One last slight negative is the lavender flower extract and Damask rose extract. I'm not sure of their percentages, nor what their specific purpose is in this product. If they neutralize any chemical smell, or if they're to be soothing, I'm not sure. But it's such a small intredients list that these two feel kind of unnecessary.

I love this serum! It works on fading my spots & acne scars. I used it 2-3 time a week, & visible results can be seen within a month. At first it has sticky feeling, but later it will absorb into my skin. I do not apply this onto my whole face as I used for spot treatment & my skin looks way smoother comapred to before I use this
Make sure to use heavy moisturizer whenever use this serum

While my skin is very dry on cheeks, mouth and around my nose, I am still combination skin and can at times get oily on my T-zone. Therefore, I rely on clay masks and using BHA on the areas that need some sebum control.
My pores are also quite tight and closed so I de diced to try the Cos de Baha S4, just to check if it did a better job than the usual 2% concentration in most BHA serums.
This treatment serum contains:
*4% BHA
*2% Niacinamide
*Several plants extracts like lavender, green tea, Rose, Artemisia and Melissa to soothe and hydrate skin
*Aloe vera
*Free from parabens, Phenoxyethanol, silicones, drying alcohols and fragrance
The gel serum is clear, odourless and consistency is goopey like Aloe Vera gel.
Does it work? Yes, a little better than most serums containing 2%..
I personally wish it didn't contain Niacinamide, as my skin doesn't agree with it lately

Maybe the price. Because is so cheap product.. Well i'am glad to see positive review in people.. But not for me
First my skin love ingredients such as salicylic acid things, BHA or willow bark.. My skin can tolerate even the presentation is high.. And this product ruin my skin badly, making a breakout in my cheek area.
One thing that i realize about this brand, first in korea the government has a rule to use BHA /salicylic acid just 0.5% can't higher more than that! Even the paula choice one right? But this brand claim it is still salicylic acid? Not betaine salicylic acid who has milder formula. So beware is not a brand who transparency to the customer about the formula.
In my life being korean skincare addicted.. It was my first time react badly to the korean beauty brand. I even not wondering why is so cheap!.. The quality and the packaging is not good too..

Love it love it love it! I love the texture and the ingredients. It was my first ever salicylic acid and my first niacinamide product too. It's immediately clears your skin, it purifies your pores and brightens your skin.
I was a bit afraid of getting a 4% bha as my first serum but you can easily use it every other day and work your routine up as it is so gentle on the skin! After a cleansing or a toner it really works good, it's easy to run in and pad into your face and neck. If you don't use too much of it, you really don't have to wait long for the serum to get absorbed and it leaves the skin clear and soft.
Not much! It does stick a very little on my oily skin, although it controls your oil production really well. But using a good hydrating cream or a moisturizer afterwards makes it better anyway.
Oh also needs a moment to absorb.

I've been using this serum for one and half month so I don't think this review is going to be enough, so surely there will be an update in the future.
At first I used to apply it only once a week and only in my T zone, because that where I use to have sebaceous filaments or pimples. I honestly was afraid of the percentage, but luckily that didn't cause any irritation or sensitivity! Then I started to use it twice a week on my whole face avoiding the eye area, and again no irritation or burning sensation! The results aren't yet noticeable that why I should do an update later. Stay in touch!
It has weird smell similar to soap bar

I love this product for my oily acne prone skin. It keeps my breakouts to a minimal, helps keep my pores unclog and control the oiliness. It's a staple in my skincare routine.
It seems to turn white when running it into the skin
