Fighting acne like a PRO

I guess we all have this moment when new acne pops up on the skin, and we want to fight it with our fingers. The urge is real, but there are spot treatments that can help us instead! Pimple is nothing else than an inflammation, and how do we treat inflammation? With substances that provide anti-inflammatory properties. Instead of using home/DIY methods like baking soda, toothpaste, etc - invest in products that can help with pimples without destroying your skin barrier or even causing chemical burns.

Calamine Pore Control Capsule Serum

Calamine looks like a pink powder. It's a mixture of zinc oxide and ferric oxide. It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It's used in products to calm the skin after bite relief products and acne treatments. The most popular solutions are double-phase solutions with calamine powders and the fluid part that contains tea tree oil, salicylic acid or other ingredients to calm the skin.

The texture is marvelous, it has light pink because of the calamine, it spreads easily, absorbs fast, hydrate my skin, it really tightens the pores, and what I'm more excited about is that my t-zone is not oily during the day and most of all - in the morning as well, yay! Calamine controls excessive oil and balance my skin condition! I use this serum along with the lha cream every day in the morning and five times a week in the evening routine because of the exfoliation part with glycolic acid. Overall, I didn't have any irritation or dryines, my pores are literally cleaner and minimized, my skin is hydrated and very very soft, I like the packaging and the ingredients speak for itself, I'm in love with this!

Dermalogy A-Clear Soothing Pink Eraser

Neogen Dermalogy A-Clear Soothing Pink Eraser is a great example of double-phase treatments with calamine. The trick in double-phase products is to not mix them before using them. Just put cotton swab inside and stricly apply the formula on the pimple.

**This product was gifted by Neogen, still, it shows my personal opinion on the product** This treatment you should know well since many brands have similar products - Calamine spot treatments. This treatment has two different layers, calamine and liquid formula. You shouldn't shake it since the shaken formula doesn't work as effectively as when the layers are separated. Similar to cleaner, you need to use q-tips and apply the product on the skin. Somehow it reminds me of calcic water - it's a chemical substance used in skincare and you can't shake it, another way you'll have to wait until it'll make layers again. This product is not as effective with pimples - it doesn't dry them out or help them go away from your precious skin but I find it better as a product to use on inflammation (redness) and dry skin since it contains ingredients like Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid and Madecassoside. It's a good product that helps reduce pimples and inflammation.

Licorice Calming Cream

I'm not a fan of licorice candy, but licorice in skincare is a different topic. Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, because that's the name Licorice is hiding under in the ingredients helps treat acne-prone skin. There are other types of licorice used in skincare, but Glycyrrhiza Glabra is the most common one. It's an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It's a source of Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate - another ingredient which you can find in your products with anti-inflammatory properties. Licorice can be used on sensitive skin.

**Note: This product was gifted to me by Wishtrend. Still, the review shows my personal, honest experience with the product. ** Every skincare product is usually based on synthetic and natural ingredients. There's nothing wrong with that - both can be amazing, but some ingredients surprise me a lot. Licorice used in I'm From Licorice Calming Cream isn't something extraordinary in skincare products. I might not be a fan of liquorice as a food, but I can't say anything bad if it comes to the cosmetical use of this ingredient. It's a brilliant ingredient to fight acne and... pigmentation. PACKAGING I'm a big fan of I'm From design. It might not be as packed with details as I'm From Fig Scrub Mask, but I still appreciate sticking to one concept. Inside the packaging, you can find a teal tube. I usually think about black colour when I think about licorice, not teal. TEXTURE I'm From Licorice Calming Cream has a gel-like texture. It's a rich but gel-like formula. Easy to apply, and during the summer it's ideal to lower the temperature of the skin. It feels so calming. SCENT It feels so calming. If you expect that I'm From Licorice Calming Cream is going to smell like licorice then you might get disappointed since I'm From Licorice Calming Cream doesn't have any scent. The brand didn't add any artificial scent ingredient to the product. I expected a lot from I'm From Licorice Calming Cream. If you ever check beauty products for acne-prone skin, you might not always see Licorice Extract, but I'm sure you might find Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate instead. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is derived from Licorice, and it's one of the great ingredients to fight acne and PIE. I think it's a good thing that I'm From decided to focus on it. I don't see lots of people talking about this ingredient. The main motto of I'm From Licorice Calming Cream is 'Completely hiding the breakout scars'. Is this motto true? According to the brand you can use Licorice Calming Cream to calm sensitive skin, reduce blemish scars, and minimise redness and dryness of the skin. It's all thanks to licorice's active ingredients glycyrrhizin and galabridin. The brand put 58% of liquorice exosomes into the formula. It's easy to make a mistake, exosomes and liposomes are not the same thing. I didn't try the entire series (Licorice Clear Pad and Licorice Soothing Ampoule), but if it comes to I'm From Licorice Calming Cream - I love it! I used this cream during warmer months and my skin during summer is not a fan of rich textures. I always have problems with finding ideal cream during summer but I'm From Licorice Calming Cream matches my skin so well. It's not making my skin oily, but my skin stays well-moisturized. The acne got minimalized. My skin is not going through the best periods since my stress level is high and it's visible on my skin. I'm From Licorice Calming Cream visibly boosted my recovery process - acne and post-acne marks got removed quicker than if I hadn't any product related to removing blemishes and scars. Pigmentation and scars need time and it's a personal thing how much time your skin needs to heal. Different scars and dark spots might need different amounts of time depending on skin colour, condition and how the scar or dark spot looks like. I wouldn't expect miracles from this cream, but if you need good moisture and bonus anti-inflammatory properties then go for it. PRICE It costs around $28 for 100 ml, it's not bad.

Rosemary Leaf Oil. Thoughts/Expirience: The first time I’ll be using Axis-Y products, before I use this two I carefully search about the ingredients if it’s fit to my skin. I’m a bit hesitating to use new products that time because my skin condition is very sensitive and experiencing hyperpigmentation. This is a glass bottle packaging, it has Ceramide Beads and a dropper on it. The first week of using this hyperpigmentation skin get calm, the first week I can really see how it calm my skin. I’m using this on my PM Routine and the Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum is on my AM routine. The second week, my skin is remaining calm but on the other side of my face got little bumps because of my lack of sleep. The third week of using it my skin was calm and not having active acnes. The last week of this spot and stop acne challenge was a blast! I can barely seeing changes on my hyperpigmentation and blemishes. I appreciate its price is a bit pricey but it’s so worth buying for. I really do recommend this for all those who are struggling on their sensitive skin. I tell you the axis y spot the difference blemish treatment literally helped my skin condition. 30 Days Miracle Tea Tree Clear Spot Oil

Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil with antiseptic properties. I might not be a fan of essential oils but this one has a special place on my list of favourite ingredients. The whole magic of this ingredient is in 4-Terpineol - an active component of this oil. Remember that Tea Tree Oil has to be diluted, you shouldn't put it straight onto your skin. Although this ingredient is common in products for acne-prone skin from Australian brands, you can spot brands like Some By Mi and Aromatica releasing their own Tea Tree Oils - these solutions are great to add to your clay mask or moisturizer.

My skin has always loved tea tree oil. It’s my go to ingredient to address any breakouts. This is a good standard tea tree oil. I like using it together with the some by mi spot all kill cream to really target my pimples without drying out or making my skin flake.

[Discontinued] Niacinamide Zinc Serum

We mostly see Zinc Oxide in sunscreens, but there's another type of Zinc you might want to try. Zinc PCA is usually mixed with Niacinamide to provide great results on acne-prone skin. Not everyone enjoys this duo (in my case it cause my acne to go even worse), but if your skin reacts well to this ingredient then Papa Recipe Niacinamide Zinc Serum is a great solution for you.

Oily/Sensitive

I've been using this serum for more than 6 months and this is my review. So I was eyeing a mild niacinamide serum as the one I used before was too harsh for my skin type. And when I researched, a lot of people say that papa recipe make a very good gentle serum, especially for sensitive skin. I like the texture, the viscosity, the packaging, the amount??!! And the PRICE??!!!! It's rare to see a serum in 150ml honestly. It absorbs really well into my skin. During the usage of this serum, not once did I get irritation from it. It took quite some time to see the results but that's what I'm going for. It repairs and brightens my skin slowly but surely. And I also noticed that I rarely get breakouts nowadays. Very happy with this serum.
