Sunscreens I Can Use Under Makeup

This list is intended for those, like myself, who prefer using less makeup layers and are seeking alternatives to primers that provide protection against harmful UV rays. I will keep expanding this list throughout the week as I'm currently testing additional products, offering you more choices or the possibility of discovering items you already own!

Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++

This is my current ultimate fave sunscreen because it gives my-skin-but-better finish all the time. It reminds me of Charlotte Tilbury's Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet about my current number one favorite sunscreen! Anyway, here's my take on Benton Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream. It's my second purchase of this product, and I can no longer imagine myself without it. What I love about this sunscreen is the effect it gives – it leaves my skin looking dewy, plump, and healthy. It's so light that it doesn't make my sweat glands cry. I can wear it under my mineral foundation powder, and it doesn't get patchy. The product performs similarly to Charlotte Tilbury's Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer; it's a dupe! Another thing to love is that it's vegan (perfect for all my vegan friends out there!) and non-comedogenic. I have sensitive skin, so sunscreen is often a culprit for my breakouts. This is one of the few that doesn't cause redness and tiny bumps, which is why I love it so much!

I love products that are dual or multi-purpose, and Heimish Artless Glow base is an all-in-one sunscreen, makeup primer, and moisturizer! It boasts SPF 50+/PA+++, ensuring you get the sun protection you need while looking glam! πŸ’„ Upon application, the product quickly absorbs into the skin. It doesn't leave a dewy finish; instead, it has a matte finish with a subtle pearlescent effect, which I find appealing. I would definitely wear it on its own if I didn't have acne scars; I'm a fan of anything illuminating! ✨ It has a mild scent that doesn't bother me at all. It works well under makeup too! I apply it before my liquid foundation. I prefer using a matte foundation with this base as it prolongs the wear and imparts a subtle sheen, giving my face makeup look natural, not flat. πŸ˜‰

A month ago, my sister and I were discussing where to find something to wear under makeup to prevent excessive sweating. I have a sweaty forehead and undereyes. Luckily, I was accepted as a YesStyle Influencer, and I chose this as my very first sponsored product. This is exactly what I've been looking for - a no-sebum sunscreen to wear under makeup! It feels like a primer, and it's lightweight. Recently I've learned that it is indeed a primer, a moisturiser, and a sunscreen in one! What I love the most is it contains my fave ingredients such as Ceramide, Panthenol, and Vitamin C. πŸ’• I prefer using my fingers to apply rather than using the sponge because I want all the product on my skin and not be wiped off my the sponge. Although, it is still best to use the sponge when reapplying (it's more hygenic plus it comes in handy in case you are out somewhere!). There is little white cast but disappears in a few minutes. It is also velvety and light. πŸƒ WEAR TEST: It was about 39Β°C outside when I went out that day. I would normally be sweating, and my makeup should have melted off, but I only had to reapply my lipstick! I have dark acne marks that I wanted to hide so as much as I hate it, I have to wear layers of stuff on my face: sunscreen, foundation, setting spray, concealer, setting powder, and more setting spray. I've been disappointed so many times by sunscreens causing my makeup to melt, but this product helped keep my foundation intact, and it never made my face sweat. Apart from its unique, FIRST in the world type of sunscreen packaging, it is an amazing product that absolutely deserves the spotlight! πŸ’šπŸ§‘

The Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Moist Serum may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I am a fan of sun serums. I prefer my moisturizers and sunscreens to be as lightweight as possible. Living in a tropical country, I understand why many people here don't wear sunscreen. It's because most sunscreens can feel heavy and uncomfortable, and some leave a white cast. This sun serum is similar to another brand I have, from the type of container to the texture. I know many people are annoyed by the pump bottle, but we can't expect it to dispense the exact amount we need in a single pump. I don't mind it at all; I believe the product is in the pump bottle for a specific reason, not just for aesthetic purposes. Anyway, this serum is very light and leaves a dewy finish. It is hydrating and plumping, although I'm not sure which of the ingredients does that. It isn't greasy as long as it's applied properly and in the right amount. I wore this under makeup and didn't experience pilling or cracking. It has a mild scent that doesn't bother me at all. Overall, it just feels refreshing to wear.

I've come across several unfavorable reviews of Kaine Green Fit Pro Sun, and I almost forgot I had it in my stash! I was intrigued so I decided to use it for two consecutive days, and here are my observations: On day 1, I followed my usual routine of applying toner, essence, and my three types of serums, but I skipped my moisturizer and applied the sunscreen. This sunscreen has a texture similar to a lightweight moisturizer, which I really like. I appreciated how it kept my skin hydrated throughout the day, leaving it dewy but not greasy. I could apply my liquid foundation over it with no issues. On day 2, I repeated the same steps mentioned above, but this time I used my calming gel cream because I'm using hydroquinone, and my skin is slightly flushed. After applying the sunscreen, it didn't feel heavy or uncomfortable, which is another plus point. However, I did feel a slight stinging sensation during application. After several hours of wearing it, I attempted to rub my face to see if it was pilling. Yes, it did, but that's likely because (1) I rubbed my face and (2) my skin is micropeeling due to the hydroquinone. Overall, I believe this sunscreen is great! It may not work well with certain other products, but it's a good option if you like to skip moisturizers during the daytime, like me. I'd still consider purchasing this again! β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
