This was very moisturising and calming for my skin. I use this at night after cleansing and before retin-A and my skin really appreciates it.

This feels a little more substantial than water and my other SKIN1004 centella ampoule. It conditions and moisturises my skin so much that I feel like I don’t need to add a subsequent ampoule or serum afterwards, although I still do. I really like this and I’m very happy to have this in my morning routine.

As with all my previous experience with SKIN1004 products, it takes some time to work out how to use it and notice results. But once you use them consistently, you become hooked on the products! I started using the toner daily for a few days in a row before I noticed my forehead getting shiny. No need to compromise my skin barrier with over exfoliation so I scaled it back to a few times a week. That seems to be the sweet spot but I can continue adjusting to see what my skin likes best. With this cica-based toner, you notice the exfoliation benefits within days and there are no drying effects as with other products that include some chemical exfoliation capabilities. I have missed having a toner in my skincare routine and this one fits in well with my current line up. I experienced no irritation, stinging or burning so I would say this is a gentle and calming formula, suitable for those with sensitive skin. It contains a vitamin C derivative so use your sunscreen in the daytime.

Now with the ampoule, it is tempting to use a pipette full per application because of the sheer size of the bottle. Most ampoules are 1 oz but this is 3.4 oz. Do not do it! Use a few drops so that it absorbs well into your skin and there is no residue. That way, you can reapply if your skin is crying out for more and your product should last you a few months well. I use this ampoule on mornings, relegating my other vitamin C to night time applications. I seem to notice spots fading quickly but it has only been a couple of weeks so it may be too soon to tell. I like to layer ampoules and I find this one plays well with other products in my routine. So far, so good. I anticipate enjoying this more as time passes. Although mostly cica-based, this also has a vitamin C derivative so sunscreen is a must.

The aesthetics of this product are 10/10! It is so beautiful to look at! But what does it do for the skin? If you're dealing with skin irritations or extreme dryness, give it a try. With one ingredient, 100% centella asiatica, it is a soothing solution for skin that needs calming. The dropper is great, the bottle is huge, the packaging is stellar. The consistency of the ampoule is very thin and watery so even applying does not require you to rub hard. How did it work for my normal-combination, acne-prone skin in a tropical climate? It's ho-hum on its own but when I incorporated it into a mixed mask or added 2 drops of my vitamin C serum to it in my palm, that is where I felt I saw it shine. It's good to have in your arsenal for moments of redness and topical skin trauma (think post-waxed skin) that we routinely experience. It's not an everyday necessity for me but I'm glad to have it on hand.
