Aimed at those with sensitive, dry, or irritated skin who want to brighten their dull complexions while removing dead skin cells and impurities, and refining the look of pores, Benton's PHA Peeling Toner is free of artificial fragrance, colors, volatile alcohol, and PEGs, and is slightly acidic to best work with the skin's natural pH.
Because this toner is designed to exfoliate the skin as gently as possible in order to avoid irritation, it's comprised of 3% third-generation PHA (Lactobionic acid), a milder alternative to AHA, that works to gently slough away dead skin cells and treat whiteheads, oiliness, and blackheads, while hydrophilic hyaluronic acid and antioxidant-rich Chrysanthemum Morifolium Flower Extract and Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water naturally soothe and moisturize the skin, keeping irritation to a bare minimum while also brightening the overall skin tone. Sodium PCA is also included in the formulation as a Natural Moisturizing Factor which is 50% more moisturizing than glycerin.
As someone with dehydrated skin, and therefore an easily compromised moisture barrier, I'm very wary of harsh exfoliants or overdoing it when I do use them. A fan of the AHA Mandelic Acid, I didn't think this peeling toner would be strong enough to really exfoliate my skin, and I was partially correct: if you're expecting baby-smooth skin after one use of this toner, you'll be sorely disappointed. But, actually, that's exactly the point! This peeling toner is supposed to be GENTLE, and gentle it is 💗 I found, even with my dehydrated skin, I could use this every day and slowly treat my skin without compromising my moisture barrier 😁
If you're in the market for a gentle, yet effective chemical exfoliant, definitely check this one out!
