This is a first essence from the brand Donginbi which is owned by Korea Ginseng Corp, a respected and multi-awarded company that provides premium ginseng worldwide.
I have confidence that Donginbi uses high-quality red ginseng in their products. Products with red ginseng are expensive but it’s because this ingredient is recognized by the Korean FDA as medical grade — able to increase collagen production and reduce wrinkles. These products are allowed to be marketed as anti-aging. Other products that contain ginseng of inferior quality are not permitted to have the term “anti-aging” on the labels and ads.
I use this first essence on freshly cleansed face or after my exfoliating toner and before hydrating toner. It can be applied with a cotton pad or by hands. I prefer the latter.
This contains 100% red ginseng extract, it has no alcohol, fragrance, or essential oils. There is a mild natural ginseng scent which I adore. The bottle it comes in is hard plastic with a twist open cap.
The texture is watery but has a little slip to it. It absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky nor greasy finish. It hydrates and plumps and feels nourishing. Not my imagination but my skin feels healthier and more resilient in just a week of consistent use. This is now an HG.
It layers well with other products esp with Sulwhasoo Ginseng line. I don’t find this combo redundant even if their key ingredient is red ginseng. I think these products complement each other and are actually more effective together. Have not experienced irritations, only healthy skin.
Ginseng is one of my favorite ingredients. My skin reacts well to it and its scent relaxes me.
