Do you have a favorite carrier oil?
Rosehip has always been one of mine.
Not to be confused with rose essential oil that often gives products a rose scent. Rosehip seed oil is a non fragrant plant oil that’s good for so many skin conditions since it’s high in omega-3 (linolenic acid) and omega-6 (linoleic acid), it strengthens the skin barrier.
It also has some vitamin A content so they say to be cautious with retinoids, though I use this every night with my prescription and don’t have any issues.
It has a light nutty scent, which lets you know it’s the real deal (be leery of any rosehip oil with no scent), and a rich gold color.
On the forum I would often frequent before my days of Picky app and Instagram, people would come in and ask - why can’t I find a moisturizer that doesn’t break me out?
And every day through and through we would say- have you tried single carrier oils? Give rosehip a try!
Reason # 1 is that if one ingredient breaks you out, then you know exactly what it is lol. And knowing what breaks you out and eliminating it is 99% of the battle.
And secondly, there’s research showing folks with acne prone skin are deficient in linoleic acid, so topical use is often beneficial.
It’s an oil that works for most.
One study even proved that the use of rosehip oil on patients post-surgery improved the look of their scars.
Don’t care for oils on your face? Not everyone does. This is also the perfect hair oil. Not too heavy, not too light. Doesn’t make my hair greasy. Defines my curls nicely. (Just a couple drops!)
I’ve seen others use this as a cuticle oil.
