Pros for the Blistex Lip Medex Cooling Relief for Lips:
✅ Affordable - purchased for $4.00 CAD (approx $3.00 USD).
✅ Reasonable Size - 7g or approx 0.25 oz.
✅ Applies easily - keeps my lips moisturized for 1-2 hours.
✅ Beeswax is the 1st non-medical ingredient - Beeswax contains natural emulsifiers (helps with retaining moisture, good for preventing chapping and heals damaged lips (from lifenotlabs website).
❌ Low concentration of plant extracts - ricinus communis (castor) seed oil and theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter are good ingredients that can lock in moisture. This product could be more moisturizing if these ingredients were higher up on the ingredient list.
❌ Application with finger - this product is in s jar-like container. You have to wash your hands before applying this product. You want to minimize the amount of bacteria you introduce to the container every time you use the product.
❌ Menthol scent - There is a strong peppermint smell that gives the “soothing” or “cooling” effect. Although, it may be too much fragrance for some people. There is also “fragrance” as an ingredient plus the 1% of Menthol in this product.
Overall, this product has been useful. It helps with my chapped lips all year around. The smell doesn’t bother me too much. I just wish it was a different type of applicator, instead of my finger.
