my initial thoughts after using it is “i hate it”. after some time and reflection, i still hate it. it’s probably not the Worst, but it’s down there.
to start off, this is a chemical sunscreen. it’s alcohol free and marketed to be a mattifying fluid with light texture, with moisturizing and anti-shine effect. since we’re in the pros section, i can say that they achieved those claims. the texture is light, it is moisturizing and it is mattifying. so they’re not wrong, but oh boy were they wrong.
while the ingredient list has parfum in it, the fluid itself is scentless. the flip over cap is also convenient compared to the screw type caps.
i need you all to bear with me. there are many things wrong with this sunscreen.
1. that “light” texture. it is technically light. it’s a low viscosity white fluid, very runny, and feels light at first impression. however, it does not feel light on my face at all. it feels so greasy. the fluid also leaks out if the tube without being squeezed, and leaves sediments on the opening. oh and it definitey clogged my pores.
2. the absorbtion is terrible. it does eventually absorb even tho it will not feel like it did, but it takes at least 10 mins of constant massaging with 1 finger length of sunscreen.
3. it does dries matte. for a while. it takes maybe 5 mins of sitting under direct fan for it dry, and you have maybe an hour of you looking matte before you start looking glazed. as an oily person, this is bad, but if you have dry skin, perhaps this wont be an issue for you.
4. that white cast, oh boy. if your goal is that ghost look, then look no further. i guess if you have super fair skin or if youre not a POC, the white cast may not be as bad. meanwhile, i am a brown folk and this would be good for my next halloween look.
5. oh it definitely stings the eyes. not at first. but after an hour or so, you will feel the burn.
6. the pilling. to ease off on the criticisms, i will say that 1 finger length is a good amount to not be white and not get any pilling. but 1 finger length is not enough. so yeah the pilling is not fun.
7. it’s expensive imo. i got it at my local drug store for $30 of my currency. i wouldnt complain if the sunscreen was actually good, but for that price and that bad experience? too expensive.
would i buy this again? nah fam, this deserves to be chucked into the bin immediately but im not wasting my money, so ill keep using it until it’s finished.
