I wanted to try the Centellian24 brand for the first time, starting with a vegan or vegetarian product. So when I saw this new vegan sunscreen, I wanted to give it a go. Plus, I received a keychain featuring the brand’s mascot as a gift "Tiggy" 🐯 and I absolutely love it, the little tiger that turns orange when exposed to the UV is just too cute !
It’s a real shame because, apart from those two ingredients (Homosalate, Octocrylene) which I wouldn’t recommend, the rest of the ingredients are good. I also think this sun cream smells really lovely, it reminds me of sweets. I hope they improve the ingredient list by choosing cleaner chemical sunscreens, as I’d love to be able to use it.
However, this is a sun cream that I won’t be using again after this test, as it contains Homosalate and Octocrylene among its sunscreens. I hope they will change those 2 sunscreens ingredients for safer.
These are potential endocrine disruptors, and Homosalate is currently being assessed at European level (ECHA). What’s more, I know that my skin reacts to this ingredient, becoming red and irritated.
And that happened again 😬 because of the Homosalate, my skin started to tingle and redden. Now I have to repair my skin barrier 🫤.
