When I received this serum, I was excited to try it because I’ve been seeing Frudia’s products and all of them are fruit-based/formulated with fruits. This comes in a glass pump bottle that is the almost same shape as grapes. The pump dispenses a good amount of serum, which has a gel-like texture.
The serum spreads smoothly and feels watery upon application. It is quickly absorbed by the skin and does not leave the skin feeling sticky. This serum has a cooling effect that goes away once the product is already absorbed.
Product claims to help tighten the pores and help optimize skin's water-oil balance and provides a moisturizing effect deeply inside the skin.
I must say that this indeed reduced the size of the pores and smoothes the skin too. You can see and feel the immediate difference upon application. It smells like a white grape tea drink from one of the bubble tea shops here but it was a faint sweet smell. It made my skin less oily throughout the day and it’s a good makeup base, it doesn’t cake the makeup too. How awesome!
But as much as I wanted to love it, I started to have cystic acne on the third day of using this. To make sure that this is the product that triggered it, I reduced my routine to facial cleanser, toner, this serum, and moisturizer. No other ampoules and actives. Then I had the second cystic acne on the fifth day. Sighs. My acne healed 3 days later when I stopped using this.
For more than a year now, I try to stick to products with no fragrance because my skin is unpredictable most of the time. I am not a 100% fragrance-free person because 50% of my current routine has fragrance too that doesn’t irritate my skin but for this product, the fragrance is undisclosed so I cannot specifically pinpoint what irritated my skin.
This is a good product for people with oily and combination skin but might be risky for people with sensitive skin.
