I love the idea of this serum since vitamin C and caffeine are two of my favorite ingredients to use in the morning. However, for me to consider dropping $68 for an 1 oz product it better be amazing. After using over half of the bottle, here’s my review!
First, what are the ingredients? This contains a 15% vitamin C complex with Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THD Ascorbate), and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. It also has Yerba Mate and Guayusa that’s high in caffeine, in addition to passion fruit, dragon fruit, and squalane. This serum contains ginger root oil and the scent is strong.
How does it feel? The texture is a lightweight, non-runny liquid that has a slightly tacky finish that goes away once I apply moisturizer.
Did I see results? It helped with de-puffing and overall brightening, but nothing drastic. To be fair, that’s the case with most vitamin C products I have tried since the majority of my hyperpigmentation is caused by the sun and hard to fade away.
So, would I buy this? No. My ideal serum would have pure vitamin C or ascorbic acid and ideally ferulic acid and vitamin E too. One day I’ll find one with caffeine that’s not insanely expensive, but unfortunately this is not the one.
