[Discontinued] Dr. Color Effect Red Serum

product review positives
Claims: 🚩 Highly concentrated serum contains red extracts, full of antioxidants to keep skin young and healthy 🚩 Serum will resolve all skin concerns in one shot - whitening, wrinkle care, nutrition and hydration and absorbs quickly 🚩 Maximizes skin vitality and promotes circulation, making skin brighter 🚩 Feel the change in 5 days! Main Ingredients: 🚩 Phyto Red Complex: Lycopene and ellagic acid the ingredients abundant in berries (pomegranate, raspberry, cloudberry, blueberry, acaiberry and lycium) 🚩 Niacinamide for skin brightening 🚩 Adenosine for wrinkle improvement 🚩 Also contains glycerin, wild yam, sweet almond seed, witch hazel, allantoin and licorice extract ❌ Contains alcohol Texture: Clear, watery texture but seems a little on oily side, smells of jasmine Packaging: Red Glass bottle with dropper My Review: I really liked the ingredient list for this serum, as it is full of antioxidants and I found it for about $8 at TJ Maxx, so I bought it. When I first opened the serum, I wondered why it wasn’t red in color, but the “red” refers to the use of the berry extracts in the serum. The product claims are a bit much to me, as they promise to resolve all skin concerns and see a difference in 5 days. I did not notice too much of a change, and I have used it for several months on and off. I did see a slight improvement in skin tone (more even tone) and fading of some spots of hyperpigmentation. But I didn’t find it very hydrating and it did nothing for existing wrinkles. I also thought it had a slightly oily texture when applying the 3-4 drops as indicated on the instructions. It didn’t absorb quickly and was actually sticky. After reducing to 2 drops of serum, that helped to absorb the serum better. I think if you have oily to normal skin and are looking for a product with antioxidants and want to see a little brightening effect, you will like this. But for those with aging or dry skin, it doesn’t really do much. I would not repurchase even for $8 (it is $40 on Wishtrend!)
product review negatives
