Since I'm a fan of water-based makeup remover, I bought this BIORE Perfect Cleansing Water Acne Care from local drugstore like Guardian or Watsons, and already use it for a long time.
• Packaging
Comes in a 300ml transparent plastic bottle with a pump. The transparent packaging makes it easy to see the amount of product left in the bottle.
• Scent
I can't detect any smell from this micellar water and definitely no artificial fragrance added.
• Texture
Water-like consistency.
• Concerns
👉 Surfactant / Cleansing - PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides (can solubilise oils and oil-soluble ingredients), Sodium Methyl Stearoyl Taurate (mild cleansing agent).
👉 Emulsifying - PEG-12 Laurate, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides (can solubilise oils and oil-soluble ingredients).
👉 Moisturise / Humectant - Butylene Glycol (penetration enhancer, slip agent, attracting water into the skin), PEG/PPG/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin (works as a great skin moisturiser, help to dissolve small amounts of oily things like essential oils or vitamin E into water-based formulas).
👉 Antimicrobial / Antibacterial / Preservative - O-Cymen-5-Ol.
• Personal Experience and Thought
Definitely a great make up remover for my oily and acne-prone skin! This is as light as water. It doesn't leave an oily or sticky feeling.
This is a drugstore must have product, that’s mentioned all over to have. No alcohol or fragrance in the ingredients and that was the important thing to me, as I use this frequently to remove my sunscreen. It does a good job of removing what you need before washing your face.
It didn't break me out or irritate my skin, and this one is lovely though! Gentle, no noticeable scent and it takes make up off really well.
I had been using oil cleanser from several brands, but it started to cause breakouts, especially since I use it the most on my eyebrows near my oily T-zone.
While for acne care, not sure how valid this claim is, and I am thankful for good skin recently. My guess is that Biore Micellar Water is very gentle and does not seem to have a lot of unnecessary of irritant ingredients such as fragrances.
I have acne prone, perpetually dehydrated skin and this will be forever part of my skincare routine ✨
• Suitable For
I would love to recommend this for person who dislike oil-based makeup remover and who dislike to feel oily residue on the skin.
It removed everything except for super water-proof mascara then it might takes some time to remove it. For person like me who always skipped mascara then this is definitely my favourite.
And, if you are super sensitive to odd things, see if you can test it before you purchase it.
