Chemist at play Brightening serum review
𤩠Price- Rs 799 for 30 ml, I got for less.
𤩠Using since: July 12 onwards
𤩠My Skin type: Combination dry skin with mild rocacea
𤩠Ingredients: 20 % 3-O-Ethyl ascorbic acid, 1% tocopherol, 0.5 % Ferulic acid, Phytoceramides, Sphingolipids, witchhazel ( they replaced it with orange extracts recently )
𤩠Fragrance: It's fragrance free but has a scent of clove oil. If you have used Dr Sheth's Vit C serum, scent is exactly same.
𤩠Texture: It's slightly viscous than water and absorbs easily leaving slight dewy finish. I love using it with my sunscreen during day time.It doesn't leave any sticky finish.
𤩠My Experience:
I personally feel my skin looks luminous, and healthy with regular usage. I have noticed slight improvement in skin texture and my skin doesn't get tanned much as compared to no Vit C serum. Regarding PIH fading, I can't comment if this is the serum working alone for it. My routine with Niacinamide, Retinols, with occasional chemical peels and vit C in combination helping it fade faster. It slightly stung for 2 to 3 days but then I never experienced any stinging. It kind of soothes my skin compared to other Vit C serums owing to ceramides in it. It definitely keeps dullness at bay. I have tried several ethyl ascorbic acid serums, this one would be my favorites amongst all including vya one. This is not as potent as L ascorbic acid ones in terms of effectiveness but doesn't sensitize skin either.
𤩠Rating: 4.25 out of 5
𤩠Cons: The usual fearmongering on fragrance, silicone and parabens. Also supports hoarding culture.
𤩠Recommendation: If you are a beginner, their newly launched 10% ethyl ascorbic acid serum is more suitable for you. Rest I definitely recommend this serum for its texture and finish it leaves. It's one of the better choices available in India. I will definitely buy again.
P.S: Rest social media manager here promotes hoarding skincare and considers it as Skinvestment. I personally found their attitude too passive aggressive with me 3 to 4 times. So I blocked š« š them. I will keep buying their products š, but won't interact with them.
