This is my very first mineral sunscreen i‘ve ever tried in my life. If you guys know or follow my skincare journey, you must‘ve known that my skin is really love with Klairs‘ products so far, especially their chemical sunscreen. Because of that i was hoping this sunscreen might work beautifully on my skin as well. But this time i wouldn’t share about the ingredients and the packaging of this product bcs i want to focus on reviewing about my experience during the application of this sunscreen hehe.
As a mineral sunscreen, i totally admit that this one does a very good job on controlling and holding my sebum on my face, especially on my t-zone. The first day i wore this sunscreen was very hot and sunny and i was going out all day long on that day. Me who has combo to oily skin in summer time, surprisingly my skin didn’t produce any sebum at all all day long. Why? Because it has a mattifying effect. The main point is that the oil control is very real!
Mineral sunscreen usually leaves a white cast and the white cast from this sunscreen is really there. The color of this sunscreen is light blue but it will turn to white as you blend it. On my skin tone i could see the white cast so clearly, so people would notice that i‘m putting something on my face. Lighweight? Not really, because i feel kind of film that sits on my face if i wear this sunscreen. If the chemical one has no scent at all, this one does, and i‘m not a fan of it because it‘s not a fresh scent like. But as long as i blend it, the scent will disappear.
Actually i really love the mattifying effect of this sunscreen on my skin because as an owner of combo skin i don’t have to worry my skin that looks too shiny so i didn’t have to blot my skin with blotting paper. But unfortunately on my dehydrated-prone skin, it‘s getting tighter and tighter as the day went long, especially on my u-zone. Even after i did double-cleansing, my skin still felt so matte. Either it’s a bit difficult to be washed off or my skin was getting drier than before, i still got no clue. I would say my skin didn’t feel comfortable during the application and after washed it off as well.
Not wudhu-friendly. Every after i did wudhu, i felt like the water didn’t absorb to my skin very well because it just stayed there, like waterproof effect if you know what i mean?
Not reapply-friendly as well because my skin tone was getting too white if i did it 😂. I know this is a mineral sunscreen, but i didn’t expect that this one would be that white😅
It‘s sad if there was a product that didn’t work well on our skin. But this is not the failure from the product, it‘s just my skin condition and type that said a different thing about this sunscreen, perhaps this sunscreen is indeed not created for me😅. And finally i gave this sunscreen to my friend so it wouldn’t get wasted
