I've always thought that snail mucin in skincare products was gross. Why would anyone want to put snail secretions on their face? ๐ฅด
Well, rewind to 4 months ago. โฎ
Because of overusing chemical exfoliants for some time my skin had started feeling sensitive af, dull and dehydrated.
Cue over-exfoliation, existing hyperpigmentation due to acne scars, plus a mildly damaged skin barrier (ugh havenโt we all been there?) ๐ฉ
Anyway, I guess itโs safe to say that I was super alarmed.
So, after researching about skin repairing ingredients for days, I narrowed down my search down to some soothing, healing + hydrating ones based on my skin type. These were centella asiatica, allantoin, panthenol, and ofcourse SNAIL MUCIN. Little did I know that in the next couple of months, I would complete change my mind about this wonder goo. ๐
โฉ Fast forward to 3 months of using Cosrxโs Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and Iโm not kidding you, my skin has NEVER felt more hydrated.

๐ฆ Consistency + Texture :
A light-weight, no fragrance essence with an almost slimy thick texture, however, it absorbs into skin fast which I love!
๐ฆ Benefits:
I like to use this daily in my PM routine and the main benefits Iโve noticed over 8 weeks of usage are hydration plus restoration of a healthy skin barrier (Iโve seen reduction in redness, sensitive patches, and overall skin irritability). The addition of allantoin and panthenol make this quite calming and soothing as well for my blemish-prone skin. ๐
๐ฆ Usage :
Snail Mucin can be used once or twice a day and is well tolerated by most skin types (however, Iโd always recommend a quick patch test before usage). I like to use it in my PM routine after my cleanser, toner, &
2% BHA exfoliant. I then follow up with my gel moisturiser and finish my routine with squalane oil.
As for the quantity to be applied, one to two pumps are more than enough for the whole face. ๐๐ป
