I have combo skin that’s acne prone, with scarring afterwards so this brightening ampoule seemed perfect! However, I’ll have to see the long term effects and be careful with application since it has so many active ingredients.
Claims
Skin1004 boasts about the MadeWhite™️ technology that helps brighten the skin tone. It’s encapsulated Madecassoside, which is one of the active components in Centella. The ampoule has it’s iconic appearance and application because of this technology. Personally, I found the capsules to blend into skin fine. In my video you can see they almost dissolve once touched.
Ingredients
✨ 77% ethically sourced centella extract (Skin1004 also explains their entire process of extraction on their website)
✨ 4% Niacinamide: amazing 🤩 for pore control and pigmentation
✨ 2% Tranexamic acid: proven to be as effective as hydroquinone but far less irritating. It blocks the pathways that cause pigmentation AND helps reduce it.
✨ Lactobacillus Ferment: NOT a live bacteria, but acts like a probiotic to maintain healthy bacteria. (Like yogurt for your face!)
✨ Vitamin C Derivative: more gentle option, also further down the ingredient list
Because of all those great ingredients that target pigmentation this is meant for people who want to brighten dull skin or fade marks. In my opinion it’s best if you have slightly resilient skin because there are quite a few actives. If you let products dry in between, this ampoule will go from a healthy glow to basically what your skin looks like after it’s washed. My combo skin was hydrated and not too oily.
Results
Before using the product I took a pic of my chin area with the most pigmentation, and my full face. These are the 2nd and 3rd pics compared to using the ampoule for a month, which are the 4th and 5th pics. I can tell my overall tone is brighter and more even (I can get blotchy). My pigmentation is also slightly less dark besides my active acne. Great for one month!
Texture
In the video you can see it’s a tiny bit viscous, but watery enough to fall down my hand. I apply everything with my hands and it’s a pool of gel-like-water. You can’t feel the MadeWhite™️ capsules rub until they sort of pop and the formula starts to absorb into the skin better. It takes a few moments to rub in because of these capsules but it’s so smooth and feels somewhat cooling that it’s a nice experience.

I think that’s a reasonable price for such a huge bottle. Speaking of the bottle, Skin1004 has beautiful 😍 packaging. It’s a sturdy 3.38 OZ glass bottle. Although it’s not travel friendly, it will definitely last awhile.
With all those main ingredients, I did end up experiencing irritation. At first I went full force applying 2 pumps day and night for about a week to a damp face. Then I had a red patch around the delicate eye area (I attached a pic). I had to stop using it for about 4 days while my skin barrier healed.
Now, I apply only in the morning on damp skin. However I apply a moisturizing product around my eyes first as a buffer. After using it for a month I’ve had no issues! I think my eye area just didn’t need so many actives all at once.
It’s a good multi-use product that might take time to show major improvements, but it does help brighten!
