I received this product for free from Picky and SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review.
Every skincare fanatic's ultimate goal is to achieve a bright and clear skin, right? Well if you are one, stick around for this review! đ
But before getting into it, let me just clear one misconception that I have come across multiple times. Brightening and whitening are not interchangeable concepts, they are totally different and people need to know the difference:
â The ultimate goal of whitening products is to change your skin tone into a lighter one. In extreme cases, some people would even resort to bleaching the skin to achieve their goal.
â
On the other hand, the ultimate goal of brightening skin is to get rid of hyperpigmentation (due to unprotected sun exposure, aging skin, post acne scars, etc.), and achieve a radiant glowy skin.
Personally speaking, I have never been a fan of whitening products, I always avoid them because my goal is to have a healthy rejuvenated skin. I like my skin tone as it is and wouldn't want to change it.
Now without further ado, let's start our review.
Formulated with 77% of Madagascar Centella Asiatica Extract, 4% of Niacinamide, and 2% of Tranexamic Acid; this ampoule promises soothing and brightening potential.
Texture:
This has to be the weirdest texture I've ever witnessed in any ampoule/serum. While the liquid itself has a lightweight watery texture that absorbs quickly, it also contains small beads that melt into the skin once gently rubbed into it. It feels weird but also very cool.
This ampoule is:
âFragrance free
âParaben free
âSilicone free
âSulfate free
âAlcohol free
âCruelty free
âOil free
Star ingredients:
âCentella Asiatica Extract
âNiacinamide
âTranexamic Acid
âMadecassoside
âPanthenol
My thoughts:
The first thing I need to comment on is the size of this ampoule. Ampoules are usually more expensive than the other categories in skincare and for a good reason. And while I don't mind that as long as the product is beneficial for my skin, I'm always complaining about how small they are. They mostly come in 30ml, sometimes 50ml, but rarely 100ml.
This ampoule comes in a generous 100ml size, and since one dropper is usually enough, it really is a good investment.
Now the ampoule itself is quite good. It doesn't provide any hydration as far as I'm concerned, but it also does not dry out the skin (I've seen some reviews complaining about this, but luckily this was not the case for me). I don't mind this because the first aim of this product is to brighten the skin; thus, I can always compensate the luck of hydration with the other steps.
This ampoule can be used either in the morning or at night. I've been regularly using it each morning for the last couple of weeks, and I can already notice an increased brightness and radiance in my skin. The small beads also work as a gentle exfoliation so my pores are constantly clean and minimized. It can be a bit sticky when first applied, but the feeling goes away once totally dry.
It is a very gentle ampoule. You don't have to worry about irritation even if you have a sensitive skin. The fact that it is made with a high percentage of Centella Asiatica alongside Madecassoside and Panthenol makes it perfectly safe and gentle.
Verdict:
4/5 â
Would I repurchase:
Not sure I would because I gravitate more towards hydrating and skin barrier building products. But if brightening is a major concern for you, then this is a very good option to consider.
