This moisturizer was nicely hydrating - more than I was expecting since it is meant for oily skin. It was very lightweight and my combination skin soaked up the moisture quickly. When it had dried down completely, the finish was, true to it’s claims, matte and almost lightly powdery.
I experienced awful pilling with this moisturizer that I couldn’t overcome. I tried using less product, more product, on dry and damp skin, and even tested it out alone on my chest without any other skincare products! Nothing I did made a difference.
It felt lovely going on but as it dried down it began to feel very sticky. Once it dried fully I couldn’t disturb it at all without it balling up and peeling off my face. I would go to wipe a crumb from the corner of my mouth after eating and bits of moisturizer would come away with it. Wearing makeup over it seemed to help “set” it a bit, but the process of trying to apply the makeup without getting pilling was nearly impossible. This was a real shame since the matte finish made it seem so promising for under-makeup wear.
I should note that I also experience some pilling with the original Toleriane moisturizer, so if that one works well for you, you may have better luck with this than I did!
