After 2 cleansing balms broke me out (Clinique + Sephora), I decided to continue the double cleansing procedure but to try another product. At the advice of a very trusted & experienced aesthetician, I chose La Roche Posay cleansing milk even though is a water not oil based cleanser.
Application: 2-3 large pumps for the whole face. Apply it just like a cleansing balm, that is with your fingers with circular massage movements (to remove makeup, dirt, sebum & sunscreen) then rinse with water and proceed with your 2nd cleanser. According to this aesthetician, itβs wrong to apply it with a cotton pad and not rinsing it off (as LRP suggests in their website) because this way dirt & sebum remain onto the skin.
Texture: It has a milky runny texture with a very pleasing soothing sensation contrary to the greasy oily feeling of the cleansing balms. Rinsed very easily with water, again unlike cleansing balms.
Ingredients: a very simple formula with just 8 ingredients, the most prominent being Glycerin. And this AGAIN reinforces my trust in the formulation rather than the fancy ingredients.
Overall, this emulsion gave me immediate & visible improvements, especially after having cystic acne caused by cleansing balms & sunscreens. Minimized my pores and most importantly reduced closed comedones and generally soothed my irritated skin. I would recommend this cleansing milk to anyone, especially those with congested skin (oily or dry). The small size bottle (200ml) is affordable enough to try it and compare it with your cleansing balms. It does remove sunscreen and rinses easily with water. The only downsize is that itβs a terrible makeup remover. Although not at all irritating, it does not remove makeup well so you may need some other makeup remover like micellar water. Still rated 5 stars because it helped my skin so much!
