The Hydrop Sweet Gel mask is marketed as a mask that can be used to boost hydration while also improving skin texture and complexion. Natural humectant Glucose, Betaine, and Squalane replenish the skin with moisture while Gluconolactone (PHA) helps even skin tone and gently exfoliates. For those with sensitive skin, this product is also essential oil free, fragrance free, and vegan!
I’ve really enjoyed incorporating this mask into my routine on days where I want to wind down. Upon squeezing it out, the mask itself is quite thick and sticky, but it applies evenly onto the skin. It may be because the mask reminds me of honey, but to me it also kind of smells like it too! It’s not an offensive smell and doesn’t linger while you’re waiting for the mask to absorb.
This mask is unique because most hydrating masks sink into the skin, but this one actually starts getting tacky the longer it sits on your skin. This doesn’t make it difficult to wash off though, which is what I was initially worried about.
So far, I have no complaints using this. I don’t think it’s changed my life but its one of those things I use on self care days to make myself feel better.
Because it is so sticky, my hair always ends up getting stuck in the mask. I find that if I use this right after I shower it makes it easier to wash off because I don’t mind getting my hair wet this way.
