Origin Red Salicylic Acid Serum

product review positives
I received this product for free from Picky and Nacific in exchange for my honest review. Good: ♦️ I like how it smells. It has a light sweet herbal smell. ♦️ The packaging feels nice and it looks aesthetically pleasing. Song on the video doesn’t belong to me, it’s “wildflower” by mrmcchickino
product review negatives
Bad: ♦️ I never used a wash-off serum before, maybe that’s why it felt wrong to… wash it off (although I wouldn’t want to leave it on the skin because the texture doesn’t feel nice). I Google Translated the directions on the packaging and it said to massage it on the clean skin and wash it off. And so I did and I didn’t like how my skin felt after. It felt tight, but not because of dryness, but because the serum left some sort of invisible film on my skin. ♦️ Irritated my skin, causing some acne near my nose and on the cheeks 🥲 ♦️ The texture feels artificial. I’m not sure if that’s the right word to use it, but it just feels plasticy. It has some viscosity, and is a tiny bit sticky. ♦️ On the package it describes serum as the one that “remove dead skin cells, soothes the skin and solve skin problems”. While I’m not sure if it removed any dead skin cells, it definitely didn’t soothe my skin nor solved any skin problems. For the reference, I have an oily sensitive acne-prone skin. My experience: For the very first week I used it 2-3 days in a row, and I think that's where all the irritation and breakout came from. I then figured it's not how I was supposed to use it. There are no instructions on how often or little you can use it. But I waited two weeks not using it (any any skincare at all) until my skin became clear. For the last two-three weeks I was using it twice a week, on Monday and Thursday or Friday, and within first days experienced breakout and irritation that I'm still trying to heal. That serum was the only exfoliant in my routine. I’m really sad it didn’t work out for me, but I’ve seen some positive reviews about it. I guess this entire line, Origin Red by Nacific, just didn’t suite my skin.
